Recently I was out jogging on a cold cloudy day. Summers
here in Wyoming are usually short, and sometimes punctuated by brief spells of
cold weather. And even snow on rare occasions.
Anyway, the darkening clouds hovering above me were threatening rain, at any
moment it seemed. I was hoping it wouldn’t start raining until I made it back
to my car. But just as I neared the end of my run to begin walking back to the
car, it started raining.
The wind came up and the rain pelted my body. As I was dressed only in shorts
and a short-sleeved summer shirt, it turned into a cold, wet experience for me.
I still had a mile left to go.
And then an old saying I’d heard years ago came to mind. I don’t know
where or with whom it originated, but here it is: "Some people go for a
walk in the rain. Others just get wet."
So I figured I’d just enjoy a little walk in the rain, something I hadn’t
done in many years.

Life is always presenting you with grand
opportunities. You live in a delightfully diverse world, and are daily
confronted with choices you must make. Must
make!
You cannot choose to not make choices. For even
that is a choice. You cannot ever escape from having to make choices.
That, in fact, is one of the reasons you, at the
soul level, chose to come into this lifetime on this planet at this particular
time in human history.
You live in a wonder-filled world on your Mother
Earth. It’s a time filled to overflowing with magnificent opportunities for
growth.
And that’s what it’s all about–having the
freedom to make choices that bring you joy. Or that don’t bring you joy.
It’s up to you.
And so whatever experiences you have
created–and you all create your own experiences, negative or positive–those
experiences present you the opportunity to grow.
You can view your experiences in any light you
choose to. You can go for a walk in the rain. Or you can just get wet.
It’s all up to you.
Which sounds more joyful–walking in the rain
or getting wet?
You see, no matter what experiences you are
having in your life, you can grow from them.
Seek the joy in every experience. It is always
there.

Since 1992, John Cali has been communicating with a
non-physical entity called Joseph. In one of his many physical lifetimes, this
spirit was incarnated as the legendary Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe in
what is now the state of Oregon in the northwestern USA. These messages are a
blend of information from Joseph, other spirits in the "Joseph group,"
and John.
John can be reached by email here
