We can all probably think of people in our lives whose
presence uplifts us. We always feel good in their company.
John Cali
Last week I was shopping in one of the local
stores. Just after I arrived, one of the young ladies who works there came in
with her dog. (Life is pretty informal out here in these little western towns.
As in Europe, people don’t mind if you bring your dog into a store.)
The dog was a tiny black bundle of fur -- she
was about eight or nine inches tall, and couldn’t have weighed more than three
or four pounds. What she lacked in size, however, she more than made up for in
her boundless energy.
As soon as she spotted me, she came running up,
bright eyes sparkling with joy through her thick black eyebrows. She stood up on
her hind legs, front paws on my knees, with a big smile on her face, tail
wagging furiously. She was adorable. And, obviously, she loved people --
everyone, it seemed, as she greeted each new customer in the same friendly
manner.
She filled the whole store with her energy and
love. People were smiling and laughing, even with other folks they didn’t know
very well.
This tiny little creature instantly, magically
transformed the whole place. The shift in energy was dramatic and all felt it.
Their faces suddenly lit up with joy and happiness, as if they were once again
little children.
Such is the power of unbridled love and joy.
Here’s Chief Joseph.

You all have within you the love, the joy, the
power of that little dog. In fact, that is your natural state.
The difference between dogs and humans is dogs
are uninhibited. They know who they are, and all they want to do -- their life’s
purpose -- is simply to be who they are. Nothing more, nothing less.
And so in their naturally uninhibited, unlimited
being, they radiate an energy, love, and joy that usually touches even the most
hardened human souls.
You all have this ability. You all have the
freedom to simply be. To be who you are. When you "be" who you
are, you feel good. When you feel good, you feel God. As you say, "Let go
and let God."
You make your lives entirely too complicated --
far, far more complicated and daunting than your higher selves ever intended,
than God ever intended.
Life truly is simple, friends. Or at least, it
can be for those of you who really want to lead a life of simplicity and love.
We realize there are many humans who seem to
enjoy getting caught up in the dramas and traumas of the world. And that’s
fine for them. But if you want something different for yourselves, you can have
it.
We’re not asking you to walk through your
world oblivious to what’s going on out there. We are telling you what’s
going on "out there" has nothing to do with what’s going on "in
here," within each of you.
You can choose to live from the outside in,
allowing the whims of the world to beat and buffet you about. Or you can choose
to live from inside out, allowing your natural state of love and joy to create
the world you experience. Not everyone will experience your world. But you
will.
That’s all that matters. Because then you will
be like that little dog, living every moment of her life with joy and love. And
positively affecting, even changing, all those around you. You will then be a
force to be reckoned with.
You have a saying "The world is going to
the dogs." Well, we say let it go to the dogs! That’s what life is all
about.

Since 1992, John Cali has been communicating with a
non-physical entity called Joseph. In one of his many physical lifetimes, this
spirit was incarnated as the legendary Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe in
what is now the state of Oregon in the northwestern USA. These messages are a
blend of information from Joseph, other spirits in the "Joseph group,"
and John.
