Is the Afterlife (Life After Death) Impossible?

posted in: Blog, channeling, life and death | 7

The afterlife is the belief that an essential part of an individual’s identity, or the stream of consciousness, continues to manifest after the death of the physical body. ~ Wikipedia

So what do you believe? Do we simply cease to exist after our physical bodies die? Or does some part of us live forever? Is there such a thing as the afterlife?

One scientist, Dr. Sean Carroll, physics professor at California Institute of Technology, has this to say:

“Claims that some form of consciousness persists after our bodies die and decay into their constituent atoms face one huge, insuperable obstacle…within (the laws of physics)…there’s no way…for the information stored in our brains to persist after we die….there is clearly no way for the soul to survive death.” (Emphasis is mine.)

Other scientists, perhaps most notably, the well-known Dr. Raymond Moody, a medical doctor, have interviewed many people who’ve returned “from the dead” or experienced what’s often called a “near-death experience” (NDE). Dr. Moody, and other scientists believe NDEs are evidence for an afterlife.

It’s pretty unlikely these conflicting beliefs and perspectives will soon be reconciled. Here are some of Spirit’s thoughts.

Spirit

Your consciousness creates and sustains your physical body. But it is not in your body. It is not your body. It is not even a part of your body. Rather, it is you, your essence. Call it what you will—soul, spirit, essence, etc.

Since consciousness is not in your body, nor a part of it, it does not die whenever your body appears to die. It is eternal. You are eternal. You are one with God.

As it says in your Bible (quoting Jeshua), “I and my Father are one.”1/ So too are you one with your Father. You cannot die.

Here is a short, fascinating discussion with Deepak Chopra. The interviewer asks him, “Is there life after death?” I found his answer fascinating. I think you will too.

I had come to the same conclusion as prof. Hoffman did already years ago on the basis of my symbolic interpretation of the bible text in Genesis in which God creates Eve from a rib of Adam. Adam up to that time had been androgynous, both male and female, so no reason for the male to feel superior.

At this point God separates both sides from each other in order to create the possibility of interaction between them. The Hebrew word for rib also means side.

For that purpose God brings Man into a deep sleep from which he has not awoken until now. That is the point where Man entered duality and the world of matter, which is however nothing but a dream or a virtual reality in which man gets the possibility to have all sorts of experiences by being exposed to opposites and by learning from these experiences, which is of course a very long process. It is the story of the Prodigal son who in the end returns to his Father after having taken a good look at himself and his experiences.
As a result of this journey Man will have gained Conscious Awareness, where before their journey through duality they might not have had Conscious Awareness at all. How can you become aware of anything at all when in a state of oneness there is nothing to compare anything to?

“There is in fact another scientist, dr. Donald Hoffman, who states that exactly the opposite is the case. Not the mind creates consciousness in one way or another but Consciousness creates all what is, including our bodies. He also shows that the world as we see it around us does not really exist. It is in fact a virtual reality. He explains all of this in an interview which you can see in the link underneath.

The interview in this link is about 45 minutes long and the part about consciousness starts after about 30 minutes. He also states that though the older scientists are not very willing to consider what he has to say, the graduate students are.

I suppose things believed to be impossible are believed because that is what the listener wants to believe. A mother lifting a car to save her child. Many people saw that, but few believed.
We are what we want to be, what we believe, what our inner self can see, feel, and understand.
I do not believe in anything being impossible. We are so very much more capable than we understand.

    Blessings to all.

Thanks very much, Mikala. I agree with you — nothing is impossible, unless we believe it is.

We can even communicate with people who have died.
