Always Follow Your Heart by John Cali

We are often urged to follow our hearts. But how many of us do it consistently?

In my own personal experience, and in talking with others about their experiences, I find two significant blocks to following our hearts.

First, we’re too easily swayed by the opinions of others.

Second, we do not trust ourselves and our own inner guidance.

Here are some thoughts from Spirit.

Spirit

Many of you were taught, as little children, not to follow your hearts. Instead, you were told others’ opinions mattered more than your own. And you carried that perspective with you from the innocence of childhood into the forgetfulness of adulthood.

As you grew in years and physical maturity, you forgot the wisdom of your child-self. Your “authority” became whatever other people’s opinions were. Those opinions were often embodied, and even formalized, in many different ways—in your religions, governments, educational systems, and so on.

You will never, ever find any higher or better or wiser guidance than your own inner voice—or as you sometimes say, that “still, small voice within.”

The opinions of others do not matter. We are not saying you should never listen respectfully to others. But we are saying you should always run their opinions through the “filter” of your own inner guidance.

Trust your feelings—they are your clearest form of communication between you and your higher self, between you and God.

One individual standing alone and free of the opinions of others can make a huge difference.

By making your inner guidance your highest, best, and final authority, you will have released yourselves from the prison of other people’s opinions.

Always follow your heart.

better late than never, i found this since 2 yrs back and actually embodied through experience most strongly since last year. I was running such a big scam of my own desires before lol..way too much noise and outside validations etc..
now i feel such beauty in following my heart… its so crystal clear what is to be done and there is literally not a ounce of doubt anymore.
Thx to all spiritual masters who taught this and lucky for me this time i had the patience to listen and apply and see for myself.

Wish I had seen this, 65 years ago.

I felt I stood alone, against the principle of “Self-Sacrifice”, and “Always think of the OTHER person FIRST”. Well, that begs the question then, “Who is the OTHER person to think of FIRST~!~?”,,, and the reply was always, “Sputter Sputter Sput Sput~!”, then, “Oh, you’re no Christian~!”

A mother has to care for herself and that, well, in order to have milk to nurse her infant~!

And that whole principle has to apply.to all of life. Terry Cole Whittaker has a book titled, “What you think of me is none of my business. ” That title told me all I needed to hear, at that time.

The BridgeWalker says, “IF you cannot Die my Death, By what Right do you try to Live my Life?”

NOW things come to me, and now I can only share what I’ve learned “the hard way”.

Blessings John, for getting this message out~!

Me too, Conshana! 🙂 But at least we’ve now outgrown that wrongheaded way of thinking and living.

I remember Terry’s book. Like you, I loved the title and that alone carried a powerful message — which I’ve never forgotten.

      I love that BridgeWalker quotation!

      Many blessings to you, Conshana,
      John
