Are You Paying Attention To What You’re Paying Attention To? by John Cali

The other day I saw great quote from Lao-tzu, the ancient Chinese philosopher who wrote the Tao Te Ching. (Although there is some question as to whether he was the actual author.)

The quote:

“In order to eliminate the negative influences, simply ignore them.”

I love it! It’s ancient wisdom still being taught today, albeit in more modern form.

A good example is Abraham, the spirit group channelled by Esther Hicks. One of my favorite Abraham quotations (they were talking about physical diseases) is this:

“Take your attention from the negative evidence (of disease), and it will leave your experience.”

My spirit guides have said pretty much the same thing over the years, also speaking about physical diseases. Here’s one of their quotes:

“You could come down with a dozen of the most dreadful diseases known to humanity, all terminal. And if, by some means or another, you could completely distract yourself from the dis-eases, your bodies would quickly heal themselves.”

All these wise beings are (obviously) saying if we take our attention from what we do not want, it will vanish from our experience.

Whenever my spirit guides and I say things like that, either publicly or in private readings, we usually get objections. They generally go something like this: “But life can’t be that simple!”

Our response is usually something like this: “Well, that’s the way Law of Attraction works.”

Here are a few questions for you to ponder:

  • Do you believe all that?
  • Can removing something unwanted from your life be so easy?
  • Can life be that simple?

Maybe paying attention to what we’re paying attention to is a good thing.

Thank you, Chris, for your comments. Abraham talks a lot about being in the Vortex versus not being in it. As you pointed out, there's a world of difference between the two.

For me, getting back into the Vortex (or into alignment with my higher self, as my spirit guides say) meditation works perfectly.

If you've been depressed, as you said, then you're probably not going to shift instantly from depression to joy. But, you can do it little by little. Just be patient and loving with yourself, and you'll get back to that place of joy.

    Blessings,
    John

It is so interesting. When I'am in the Vortex (Like Abraham calls it), then I believe more, selftalk is more positive and actually response from others are better too…in every way.
And when I'am not there…it's not even worth talking about. It's seems like two totally different worlds. I know how it feels to experience joy, but what I don't get is why it is so hard to get back to the feeling of love from depression? I remember how I felt when i experinced more joyful thoughts and feelings, but if I try to focus on something better it doesen't feel good as it felt before. Then how I can get back ''Home'' again?

    Peace & Love!
