The Death Bells Are Ringing For Politics As Usual

posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration | 14

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first. ~ U.S. President Ronald Reagan

vulture-death-bells

If you live in the United States, you’re probably aware (maybe painfully so) next Tuesday, November 6, is a national election day. The country’s political scene appears more negative and angry than I can ever remember.

If you’ve been with us a while, you may know I’m nonpartisan, apolitical, neutral — however you want to describe it.  I don’t take sides in any matters involving politics or religion.

Nor do I describe myself with labels—liberal, conservative, republican, democrat, etc. I’ve even lost a friend or two because I’ve refused to argue politics with them.

So where are this country, and the whole world, headed? Are we all falling into the abyss of  darkness and negativity?

Ever the eternal optimist, I believe this is a much-needed new beginning. The death bells of  the old ways are ringing loud and clear throughout the land, and the world.

Spirit

Can politics and spirituality go together? You might even ask, “Can religion and spirituality go together?”

Yes, they can. But they certainly do not seem to be today.

Relationships—with family and friends, even among nations—are fracturing and falling apart. Is it worth all that? It seems to us that’s a pretty heavy price to pay. And what is that price buying you? A fractured world that’s also falling apart.

Or so it seems.

Your wonderful spiritual teacher, Deepak Chopra, says “Every great change is preceded by chaos.”

That is exactly what’s happening now. Not just in the United States, but throughout your planet. It’s time to rejoice, not to wring your hands in despair.

We are not advocating you refrain from engaging in politics, as Johnny has chosen to do. We are advocating that you do engage in politics, if you choose. Politics needs more awakening and aware folks like you. You can transform the world’s “second oldest profession,” as President Reagan describes it.

But if you do choose to engage, remember what we said years ago: “God is all that is.”

Your family and friends are God. Your political opponents and enemies are God. Remember that, and you will be a force that can transform the chaos and confusion into the love and light you yearn for.

It really is that simple. Maybe not always easy. But always simple.

Each of you, individually and certainly together, have that much power. Use it wisely.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Lydia.

The problem you have is common — it has to do with copyright restrictions. Not all videos are available in all countries. If you want to email me at john@greatwesternpublishing.org I can tell you how to get around the restrictions — it’s all perfectly legal and acceptable.

Thank you, dear, for your most kind words. I’m delighted you are still going strong at 85. You sound younger than many folks half your age, or even less.

Indeed, we all have a choice to be happy and trust our inner guidance. It’s really so simple!

    Love, Johnny

Hey Johnny , you know Marianne Williamson the spiritual teacher is running for the democratic nomination now, if you look her up there’s plenty of interviews, not sure she’ll make it but it adds to the conversation anyway though I’d share this with you

      Hi Joe,

Yes, I did know Marianne is running for the nomination. Thank you very much for the link — I’ll check it out.

I’m not sure she’ll make it either. But it would be great to have someone that enlightened, no matter her political party, in a national and international position of power.

      Thanks again!
      Johnny

I I do not know where the glitch is but I am in Canada and when I try to see the video it does not allow me to…….(Video unavailable . The uploader has not made this video available in your country). …….
I do feel /taste the spirit in your dear words and so appreciate you. I am an 85 year old Canadian. grandmother.
II feel politics are the puppets of the Deep State – rather a farce to keep minds busy; which, as you say, all seems in some ways to be coming apart at the seams. I have been thinking that to upgrade my identity I need to work on my self image – from a physicality into the open, and ongoing knowingly
feeling of self to be an energy field, a light source. That lets me take a deeper breath and feel rather cheerful, playfully open to the incredible dance of life we have found ourselves in and all the dear beloved reflections in this particular slice of ‘all that is’. . Thanks, Sweetheart. : ) .

A lot of truth in that quote from the Course in Miracles. We create our own reality and it changes as we change. Sounds interesting and look forward to reading it. Thank you, John

    • John Cali

You’re most welcome, Pat. It’s a pretty powerful, and thought-provoking, quote.

This reminded me of something else, John. Have you ever read the children’s book by Neale Donald Walsch. It’s called, “The Little Soul and the Sun” and is a beautifully little illustrated book with a conversation between a child and God and what he wants to come back in another life to be. Goes along with some of the things you’ve been talking about here with an innocent twist of perspective. I love it.

    • John Cali

I think I did read that, Pat, long ago — though I don’t really remember it well. But I love what you said about it. Perspective is everything.

And, speaking of that, today’s lesson in A Course in Miracles begins with this statement: “I see all things as I would have them be.” That can be either negative or positive. If we harshly judge the world out there, we’ll see a harsh world. If we love the world, no matter what, we’ll see a world of love.

      Thanks very much, Pat.

As you know John, Toronto is a huge city, the largest in Canada and quite diverse. On the most part we get along quite well. We just had elections for city council and a few months ago for the province itself. I don’t vote and the times they are indeed chaotic. I don’t particularly like the mayor but he is the best and quite dependable. I do like the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford and he is chaotic. Chaos has a place in the Universe, it rips down the old and something fresh and new will appear. So in a way there is a balance . Many people get so upset with religion and politics, everyone needs to calm down, relax and feel the birth of a new way 🙂

    lots of love and hugs
    Jeannie

    • John Cali

Yes, I know, Jeannie — I grew up just a short distance from Toronto, on the US side of Lake Erie.

Sounds like you have an interesting political scene up there. I’m aware of some of it, but I’m not a big fan of politics — or religion for that matter. 🙂

I agree — more of us need to feel the birth of a new way. It’s coming, whether we acknowledge it or not. 🙂

      Lots of love and hugs,
      John

    Dear Johnny,
Great article. God is sparked in each soul on earth, be it a tiny ebbing spark of light to the most brilliant of lights. The people that resort to violence & noncompliance of laws have wavered in ethics, morals, and are dimly lit with light…..forgetting the essence of God’s goodness within. I never followed politics growing up and assumed that all people in official/ high places were good. I was raised Democratic…never questioning or researching facts…just blindly believing whatever I was told. Spirit came to me poking me hard to wake up….I researched, voted for President Trump, and have since then changed my affiliation to Republican. Let me say though within any group, religion, socioeconomic levels= there are extremely good & bad people found in any group. But my observation of the past 2 years of using discernment….has shown my heart that the majority of Republicans are emulating
ethical, professional standards and following the laws of our Nation . I feel President Trump has kept his campaign promises & has accomplished so much to help USA citizens, as well as promote safe boundaries from illegal undocumented people that show no respect for following the legal process required to enter USA.

    • John Cali

Thanks very much, Karen. It certainly is an interesting time in this country, and throughout the world.

  8. Pat

Thank you for sharing, John, and for Spirit’s message. It’s a pretty crazy time and think it’s only beginning. No matter how long it takes we’re in for the long haul and it warms my heart to see candidates choose a higher road.

    • John Cali

Thanks very much, Pat. I agree — it’s so heartwarming to see politicians, especially the younger ones like those two, choosing the higher road.
