The Flow of Life

Various statistical reports show Americans, and others living in the United States, suffering from an unprecedented degree of mental stress and distress.

These certainly are unprecedented times.

My mother, then barely a teenager, lived through the 1918 flu epidemic, also called the Spanish flu. She survived the flu herself.

Ever the eternal optimist till the moment she left us many years later, she always said “God will take care of us.” And S/He did.

Mom knew how to go with the flow of life.

Spirit

Virtually all the problems humans have faced down through the centuries have a single root cause: resistance to life.

Instead of going with the flow of life, people have resisted and protested virtually every step of the way.

Of course, underlying this resistance is a lack of trust. A lack of trust in themselves, in God (whatever you perceive God to be).

There’s a line in A Course in Miracles that is one of Johnny’s favorites: “I place the future in the Hands of God.”

If you can do that, really do it, you will be relieved of the crushing weight of fear you have saddled yourselves with.

We can already hear the objections:

  • But the world is a dangerous place!
  • How can I live in today’s world without fear?
  • Fear protects me from harm.
  • And so on….

We are not saying to ignore commonsense precautions. To use the current coronavirus situation as an example: wash your hands, stay away from crowded places, and so on.

We are saying you are making yourselves more vulnerable to harm by living in fear. There is nothing like fear to depress your bodies’ natural and powerful immune system.

There truly is, as one of the US presidents once said, “…nothing to fear but fear itself.” (Spirit is referring to President Franklin Roosevelt.)

Just use this as your daily mantra:
“God will take care of me. I place my future in His/Her hands. All is well.”

Then go with the flow of life.

The earliest memory I have is being sat down in the kitchen on the floor. A woman sat me down, I was a year or two years old, not sure. But I sat there and watched and listened. The woman that brought me to this place told the other woman ( who was my mother) that I would get along with the other 3 children in the household, that I can amuse myself and I was biddable. Now to say I have trust issues is right on, I do. But the one thing I know and I trust is everything will work out for me, what I need I will get. I believe and trust the Universe leans in my direction and upholds me. My idea of “God is wider than most, not he or she but something so incredible , so loving that it expands my heart and soul. I trust that one thought that what I need is here now and all I have to do is step out of the way and allow it to manifest. I am a watcher and for some reason that is my nature. I love the movement of nature, of life and I am amazed that I am part of what is being created. I am amazed that the creator is within me, within all of us and all we need to do is get out of the way.

I think I’m rambling now but I am human and I have my moments but trust that we are created to create in return. As we move forward, as we create with thought, belief and expectation we are joining whatever you believe the Creator to be in It’s journey from the known to the unknown.

love to you John and Spirits for you are beacon of Light, Love and joy 🙂

    Hello John!
Last night I said a prayer, asking God to help me live my life in an easier, happier way. And then you shared this post. I love the mantra Spirit shared, and I already feel a lightening up within myself.
I recently moved from Montana to South Carolina. A much needed change for me, but some fears have set in, disrupting my flow. Your post has such perfect timing for me, and I feel that God answered my prayer through you. Thank you, John and Spirit! I hope you are well!

      Hi Tracy,

Thank you very much for your comments.

If more people asked God for help in these challenging times, we’d see far less stress and pain in today’s world.

I wish you well on your move to South Carolina. That’s a dramatic change in scenery! I’ve moved many times in my life, and will be moving again soon. So I understand the challenges you’re facing.

      All is well here, thanks.

God bless you, and bring you deep peace and love,
      John
