Have You Checked Your Blood Pressure Lately? by John Cali

I know that’s a strange title for a newsletter article. But those of you who’ve been with us a while know I can come up with even stranger titles than that one.

John Cali

Last week I was at a meeting of a community service organization I belong to. One of our speakers gave a short talk on health. The first thing he said was “Have you checked your blood pressure lately?” Hence the title of this article.

The speaker launched into his talk with a brief history of his personal physical health. Several years ago he’d been monitoring his blood pressure every day. One day the reading skyrocketed. He just knew something had gone wrong. He was obviously expecting something to go wrong or he would not have been checking his blood pressure every single day.

He went to his doctor who also knew, before seeing his patient, something had gone wrong. The doctor, expecting in advance to find something seriously wrong, did — a malignant tumor on one kidney.

Patient and doctor agreed the whole kidney should be surgically removed. They were expecting the worst and hoping desperately nothing else would go wrong.

But it did.

The patient had a stroke while recovering from his kidney surgery.

Do you see a pattern emerging here?

Now, about two years later, our speaker-patient is recovering well from the surgery and stroke. His health “disasters” were truly opportunities for growth and greater insight into himself.

This is a charismatically compassionate, caring man, a powerful man. Someone you could not help being drawn to. But also a man once filled with fear.

P.S. I was recently reminded we’ve done several articles and podcasts lately on health and illness, death and dying. We’ll move on to something cheerier next week.

Here’s Spirit.

Spirit

You get what you look for, what you focus on, what you expect, and mostly what you fear.

In fact, you usually get anything you have a strong emotion about, whether the emotion is positive or negative. For many of you, especially in your modern world, negative emotions like fear are more powerful than positive emotions.

But Law of Attraction works faultlessly. So whatever you’re drawing into your lives is there because you gave it a lot of attention, positive or negative.

Most of you have been brainwashed into believing your bodies must deteriorate and become sick as you move through the years. That’s what you expect. That’s what you fear. So that’s what you get.

It does not have to be that way. In fact, your bodies’ natural state is that of balance and well-being, from birth to death — whether death comes at 10 years or 100 years.

Your bodies know how to take care of themselves. They know they can heal themselves, even instantly, of any dis-eases, no matter how minor or major.

Most of you have completely recovered from so-called “terminal” illnesses without even knowing you had them. That’s because you did not get in your bodies’ way. You couldn’t because you had no conscious knowledge of what was happening.

But if you constantly monitor your bodies from a place of fear, as John’s guest speaker did, you’re probably going to find something “wrong” sooner or later.

Why?

Because most of the time you’re looking for, expecting something wrong. You thereby interfere with your bodies’ natural talent for balancing and re-balancing themselves, for always returning to a state of perfect health.

By the same token, when you go to a doctor for a checkup, you and the doctor are often coming from a place of fear, fear of something gone wrong. Eventually you’ll find something wrong.

If you must go to doctors, find one who is wanting to find something right with your bodies. Someone who does not instill fear and dread into you. And go to him or her with a sense of joy and positive expectation.

Look only for the positives in your lives, not for what can go wrong. Appreciate all the good you have, appreciate and love your bodies. Know they can heal themselves far better than you or your doctor can.

Instead of fearing the worst, expect the best. But either way, you’ll create whatever you focus on mostly and feel most strongly about. You are all that powerful.

So use your creative power to create the life you want.
