There Is No Such Thing As Death

no-death

Our title today is a direct quote from spiritual writer and adventurer Baird T. Spalding’s book,  Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East.

A few weeks ago, I was traveling on a remote road in northern Montana. The only signs of human life were a few cars and an occasional ranch or farm.

With no warning, a bird flew into the path of my car. There was no way I could avoid it. The bird was hurled onto the side of the road. I felt so sad because I love all living creatures.

At that moment one of my spirit guides, Tamarra, came to me. She was the first guide I’d ever met, many years ago. She loves animals and has always given me good advice about them.

I was convinced the bird had only been badly injured, not killed, and was suffering a slow painful death on the roadside.

Tamarra assured me he (she used the male pronoun) had died instantly, and did not suffer. Then she said his angels came to guide him home.

The moment she said that, I had a vision of about a dozen angels. They were all radiantly white, and all had a bird’s body.

About an hour later and a bit farther down the road, I looked up at the sky to my left. There were 9 clouds there, all close together. (I counted them.) All were shaped like angels.

So I asked another of my spirit guides what that meant. All he said was “The angels are watching over you.”

Conclusion

So what can we gather from this little story? For me personally, it means, as our title says, there is no such thing as death, for any living creature, human or not. I’ve believed that all my life.

It also means, at least to me, we are forever in the care of the angels (spirit guides, God, the universe — use whatever word you like).

I loved reading this. Thanks John.

I think that’s so wonderful that your family celebrate one’s crossing over! You know, just as you had a vision of the bird angels, who helped the bird, if we could all actually see that happening to a person as they are transitioning, all fears just may disappear! Wouldn’t that be a wonder to see. (Smiles)

It certainly would be a wonder to see, if we could all do that. As you say, Tracy, it would remove all fear of death.

Which reminds me of all the stories I’ve read over the years about near-death experiences. Most people who return from those experiences never fear death again. They’ve been to “the other side,” and it’s beautiful.

    Hi John,
I don’t fear death because I know the beauty that awaits us, plus our loved ones, and a break from this world. Haha
I’m happy for you that your guides and angels helped you while on the road. That’s a hard thing to go through for me, also.
I haven’t replied yet because Neale’s video opened up a fountain of grief within me that I’ve had trouble releasing. He’s right; we mourn our own loss, the physical connection with somebody, that’s no longer there. I’ve always known that, but it doesn’t make it any easier.
The anniversary of my mom’s passing is next month, and I’m going to celebrate it with her, now that I’m able to.
I wonder if it isn’t death that we’re afraid of, but instead, the feelings that come with it?
Thank you for this post, and the video, John. You’ve helped me to let go of the pain, and replace it with love and joy.
    Much love, as always!

      Hi Tracy,

I think the fear of death is really the fear of the unknown. If we all realized, as you do, only beauty awaits us, there would be nothing to fear.

Neale’s video is pretty powerful. As you say, even if we know the wisdom of his words, it can still be challenging when we lose the physical connection with someone we love.

It’s good you are now in a place to celebrate your mom’s passing.

I think you’re right — it’s more the feelings around death that we fear, and not death so much. I remember the funerals of so many of my family over the years. The Italians make a celebration of funerals. You still miss the one’s who’s died. But, beyond the mourning, the celebration of their lives is the main focus. Funerals were always a big party in my family. 🙂

I’m glad the post helped you, Tracy.

Much love to you also, dear.

    Hi John,

To my surprise I see that there is no reply yet to your question.

No, I am not afraid of death. Death is just a doorway to another reality. As is birth, I might add.

You can also see it as taking off this cumbersome body suit – which is a literal translation of the Gothic word lic hamo, which became lichaam, the Dutch word for body – and returning home.

We are not our body; we have one, and we ourselves, as spirit, are eternal.

      Hi Anny,

Several people replied to me privately. Also, this is summer vacation time in the northern hemisphere, and things usually slow down then.

I agree with you. As A Course in Miracles says, “I am not a body, I am free, for I am still as God created me.”
