Old Age

old age alzheimers dementia “…that condition we know as old age….does not exist in actual form in the scheme of this universe.” ~ Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East

As a society, we have a deep dread of old age. But is that justified? Or is it even real?

Our scientists tell us all the cells in our bodies are renewed every 7 years. That means the oldest we can be is 7 years.

But, for most humans, that is not their experience. Many folks, instead, suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Or other illnesses.

Above, I quoted the Masters of the Far East. Here is another thought-provoking quotation from those wise teachers (who, by the way, still walk among us):

There is no death! The life of the body is the Spirit that created it, and when through ignorance the body is completely dominated by false concepts about life, the body has lost all its true sustaining power, and, therefore, can no longer function. This is what is called death.”

Here are a few thoughts from Spirit.

Spirit

Many of the masters Johnny talks about in this post have lived hundreds, even thousands, of your earth years. And they still walk among you. But you do not recognize most of them.

Eternal life is real. In fact, you have no choice—you live eternally. But you can chose how you live.

You can live a life of pain and suffering. Or you can live a long and happy life.

It is entirely possible for you to live happy and healthy lives in your physical bodies for centuries.

Whether you would want to or not is another matter.

In this hilarious video, there are a bunch of “old coots” (as they call themselves) having lots of fun. Plus, they’re helping many folks along the way. If you’re going to live a few hundred years, this is the way to do it.

        Hi Karen,

Thanks very much for your thought-provoking comments.

I love that quotation from A Course in Miracles. Though I’ve never read that particular book.

        Thanks again.

Who can define old age? Our journey simply is OUR journey. We all know there was a beginning (a LONG time ago) and there will be an end of this human body at some time. When? When our journey is completed.
Don’t worry about it. Just take each day as it comes. No reason to be fearful if you know it is going to happen some day. Live in the NOW. It is actually all we have no matter what our age.
    Love you, John.

Thank you, Mikala — it’s great to hear from you!

That’s great advice — “Live in the NOW. It is actually all we have no matter what our age.”

      Love you too,
      John

I’m 70 now but I am still me. I’m not an age, I’m me. I am not a stereo type or what doctors think, I am me. I have always been me, I will always be me. I’m more than the parts you see and more than the thoughts I have. I change, I arrange my thoughts and my life each day and I am new, reborn , Me. I am the past, the present and the future and still I feel Me. I am what was, what is and what will be, eternally Me. I have many faces, many states, many Beings inside yet they and I are Me, we are One and Eternal 🙂

Sounds really egotistical yet I Am Me

I love you dearly John, have a Super Day!

Thank you so much, Jeannie! You said it all so beautifully.

Yes, it does sound egotistical to the earth-bound mind. But if you believe, as I do, that we are all God, that also sounds egotistical. Yet it’s the greatest truth many humans have yet to discover.

      I love you too, Jeannie,
      John

If there is no such thing as death there is no such thing as life.
Depends on which point of view one holds onto.
Who or what influences my millions of decisions?
What would my avatars answer? What could my avatars answer?
