Relationships – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by John Cali

One of the most challenging and yet rewarding parts of our human lives is relationships. None of us need reminders of that—it’s all too obvious.

But what is the true purpose of relationships? In my opinion, relationships are marvelous opportunities to express who we truly are—they are always, with no exceptions, great vehicles for personal and spiritual growth.

Here are some of Spirit’s thoughts:

  • All relationships have at least two different perspectives because you are all unique.
  • One key to successful relationships is allowing the differences without being threatened by them.
  • Remember, there is no right, no wrong in relationships.
  • One of the most damaging things you can do to your relationships is needing to always be right.
  • Relationships, like everything else, are continually changing. You need to accept that and, as you say, “go with the flow.”
  • It’s important to regularly reevaluate your relationships—there will always be “course corrections,” or adjustments, you will need to make.
  • It’s critical that you always communicate openly and honestly, especially with those you are in close relationships with.
  • Some relationships will not last a lifetime. Let that be okay, and you will find much peace.
  • The end of any relationship is a new beginning—always.
  • Always live in the present moment. Then you will be of immense benefit to yourself and your relationships.
  • Your most important relationship is with yourself.
  • Always be true to yourself. Always be yourself.
  • Love yourself unconditionally, and your relationships with blossom and grow.

One of the most powerful tools for nurturing loving relationships is also one of the most obvious. Yet it’s one many of us fail to use regularly. The tool? Simply listening.

“The differences among people were meant as tools for learning, and not as excuses or justification for conflict. ” The BridgeWalker.

On Earth, and as the individuals we are, we cannot expect to know and understand everything, or to be everything. We are not fully complete within ourselves. BUT, we have the ABILITY to appreciate the talents and abilities of others, while working to find and develop our own. ALL of us enrich everyone who we come in contact with. And all of us provide a grain of sand on the mountain of Growth we call, LIFE. And that Mountain is one we all traverse.

It is truly written, “No Man is an Island.” Yet, each of us is an individuated aspect of the Supreme and Holy Creator. And my own personal belief is this: We are the Eyes, Hands and Feet of God, even as “HE” is our Supreme Guide and Comforter. I may have a faulty understanding of this concept, but even so, it is still in “development”, so to speak.

At least, that’s how I see things at this time. And I feel that People are Beautiful, if we would only let them be~!

    Thanks John.
And adding to the video, listen without the technology! 🙂
I know personally that deeply listening in a work setting is not encouraged; everything is about speed and doing more with less, and then people are amazed when things go wrong because someone didn’t know something or understood it differently.
Here’s what my signature line at work contains:
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.
It’s a bit of fun, yet also very true! We all may hear the same words and they might have a different meaning for you than they do for me.
    Thanks for sharing.

You’re very welcome, Roy. I love your signature line — that’s great! And so true!

Two or more coming together as one = relatiohships. Love is the bond that creates the Oneness. RELATIONSHIPS are the means/tools for humanity to bring forth their love, their true essence and the unifying energy of the Universe. Thus our relationships are our teachers, offering us opportunities to be unconditionally loving and allowing. When we can move beyond the habit of conditionality and/or judgment we become the reflection of God in physical form.
To reach the point of Divine perfection means we need to first make sure we are the love and light we seek and hope to have reflected back to us. If we are looking out through filtered glasses we cannot expect to see the true brightness that exists. Relationships offer the chance to remove the layers of filters we have in place due to limiting beliefs and misperceptions from not only this incarnation’s creations, but all the old baggage with have chosen to take with us to also work through, plus in some cases family lines misperceptions, and mass consciousness misperceptions. Always remember that God does not give you anything heavier than you can carry. It is only when you choose to cling onto old misperceptions, rather than releasing them, that the weight of our burdens mount up to the point of breaking us.
Look upon all through the eyes of Jesus, see only the love of the soul in all, and the journey of relationships will be the joyful experience our soul envisioned when it signed up for this sojourn on planet Earth.
