Spirit’s Friday Frolics — A Parting Shot by John Cali

As you know by now, we’ve discontinued our Spirit’s Friday Frolics because of an apparent lack of interest. However, we decided to do what you might call a “parting shot” — a last funny video sent to me by a dear friend. Thank you, Eoin!

I find it rather interesting we should be publishing this blog post about laughter on Friday the 13th — which, for superstitious people, is a day of “bad luck.”

As one of the folks commenting on the video said, “Laughter is a good medication for worries, sadness and depression….Laughter is ultimate teaching. Everybody understands it.”

You can probably guess there’s a lot of laughing in this video, and it’s contagious. Just stay with it — it’s only about 7 minutes long. I think you’ll be glad you did. It will be good for you.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It’s called Laughing Buddha.

Send Us Your Questions
We invite all of you to send us your questions. We’ll publish Spirit’s answers in occasional blog posts. Please follow these guidelines:

1. Keep your questions “on topic” — that is, on the subjects we cover in our blog and newsletter.

2. Your questions should be of interest to all our readers. If you have personal questions, especially lengthy ones, those would be more appropriately covered in private readings.

3. Email me your questions. While I cannot guarantee we’ll be able to answer all questions, we’ll do as many as we can.

    Hi John,

I only saw this last video yesterday and I liked it very much. Besides the laughter, which was very funny and catching, it was also profound. Actually I had reached this conclusion that we do not really exist (as separate entities that is) myself, including Mooji’s comment that the man should not say that anywhere else or he would be locked away. I said that to my husband too when we discussed the matter. I would not have called myself a fraud or anything like that but I understand where this man was coming from.

As this was the last Friday Frolic I revisited the other ones and looked at them again and I could not help but notice that you closed the circle as it were by finishing the series with the same person, Mooji, that you began it with. In the first one he was also very funny but not always that hilarious. It is well worth to also check out some of his other videos.

    Love,

    Anny

Thanks very much, Anny. I hadn’t noticed the Mooji connection — we started and ended with him. Interesting! Thanks for pointing that out.

      Love,
      John

Laughter is great for the body and soul. Love Mooji. BTW, I see Friday the 13th as a lucky day. It’s always been a good day for me. Have a great day!

The last Friday Frolics are going out with a bang, or in this case, a great big laugh.

Laughter is contagious and seems to affect some people more than others. I am blessed to have a particular friend that somehow seems to have his funny bone tickled by the same things as me. We have been known to laugh just like Mooji and Dennis for so long that, well, we feel that it is very hard to stop. I don’t do it in the same way with anyone else. Perhaps it’s the Law of Attraction for laughter. You keep laughing and the universe attracts more hilarious thoughts to you and you laugh at them too. And on and on it goes. Until your belly aches, you’ve run out of tears, and you have a permanent smile on your face.

John, thank you, you’re a legend (this is a very colloquial Irish expression, I hope it comes across the way it is supposed to. It’s supposed to be one of the highest compliments!).

It´s a beautiful thing when the Person stops identifying with the ego and realizes he/she is an eternal soul… Then all mundane fears and worries seem so laughable when compared to the imense beauty and ecstasy there is to be experienced in life, as a spirit in a physical body & aware of itself! Heaven on earth…

Love the laughing Buda, Advaita Vedanta and Moojiji 🙂 Thank you for the beautiful post!

Um. O k a y. I enjoy a good laugh as much as the next person, but these two? Makes me wonder if perhaps there was something in the air they were breathing.
