Talking To Animals: Followup by John Cali

I thought we’d follow up our last blog post, Talking To Animals, with some of Spirit’s thoughts on animals, specifically domestic household pets.

Spirit

Pets are not in your lives solely for your entertainment, though they certainly do entertain you. More importantly, pets are here as your teachers and, often, your healers.

You have a phrase bandied about much – “dumb” animals. By “dumb” you generally mean “stupid.” Or at least something less than human intelligence.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. While we are in no way diminishing the importance of the human mind, we are saying there is far more “intelligence” in your world than you have ever imagined.

Dogs and cats have great intelligence. Obviously, they cannot speak in words, verbally. But they can understand your verbal communication. Yet it’s a rare human who understands dog and cat communication.

Animals communicate with each other, and they communicate with you. Their most powerful communication is through telepathy. They read energy, and they can “predict” events. They almost always know ahead of time when something is about to happen, whether it be “bad” or “good.” They are always tuned into what you sometimes call cosmic consciousness.

You and your animals can also communicate after one of you has “died,” just as you can with your human loved ones.

Note: We talked about after-death communication with animals in our article, The Far Side of the Rainbow Bridge.

    Hi John,

Ok, here is Take Two, somewhat abbreviated . . . 😉

A little book that totally opened my eyes to speaking with, and listening to, our companion animals and all living things is called “Kinship With All Life” . . . Strongheart, a famous German Shepherd of decades ago, and who is the main character of this book, was and still is, an amazing teacher.

Thanks for this great forum !

      Hi Ginny,

Well, abbreviated is better than none at all. 🙂

Thank you very much for the book title — it sounds wonderful. I’m sure our readers, especially the animal lovers, will enjoy it. And I will too.

      Hugs,
      John

I live in Germany. My elderly neighbour survived WW2. Her family were farmers.
She told me that during the war, HOURS before the planes dropped their bombs,
the geese knew they were on their way and would become very nervous. That is how
she and her family knew well in advance to seek shelter.

Wonderful message from Spirit. I have always thought of animals in my life as special guardians of truth, teaching, love & protection. When you look in the eyes of any bird, reptile, fish, or animal there is a bright intelligence & curiosity there, as well as a recognition of being part of a greater purpose. The domestic ones we spend our daily lives with are certainly special guardians in agreement with Spirit to be here to help love, protect & guide us with our daily lessons. They are part of the very fabric of our heart & soul as well as the great Spiral Dance of Creation.
From the tiniest sparrow, or chipmunk to the great cats, wolves, horses, etc. if we but try to communicate with love from our hearts, there is always a connection with our four footed fellow travellers on our paths and a harmonious cammeraderie of lives well spent!
Blessings John & thank you so much for this amzing & blessed gift from Spirit!

I am a 72 year old who has been widowed twice and my Yorkie,Roly, has been at my side throughout, loving me better. He is almost 18 now,and almost completely blind and deaf, but he is still at my side with a comforting lick when I am down.I dread the day when we will have to part, but in my heart,I know he will never leave me.Truly,my little best friend.

    Great article ..
The animals of the planet seem to not only HAVE .. but USE .. their 6th sense ..
My hope is that we humans .. perhaps after 2102 .. will be more “in tune with’ our 6th-sense abilities.
Our pets .. who provide so much unconditional love .. seem to balance out the negativity in our lives.
We have MUCH to learn from our pets.
Thanks John … and Spirit …

Thanks very much, Stephanie, for your comments. I completely agree with you — the animals are often our greatest teachers and healers.

I talk to my animals all the time and they have shown me they do understand a lot of what I am saying. They give me such joy. I can’t imagine being without them. I have three dogs and two cats and they give me so much love.

I don’t have a dog or cat, but I do have a pet rabbit. And I must say that I often think that he knows how I feel. He always wants to be near me, sitting next to me or in front of me on the floor, when I’m sitting on the couch.
He follows me around the house. Sometimes he just sits in front of me and stares at me, right in my eyes. And when I’m in a silly mood and dance around the room, he joins me. 🙂

this is a great article….thank you.
i agree 150% about all that animals do and especially about them knowing when things are going to happen. Last summer the east coast had an earthquake. About an hour before it happened I was heading out the door. My Guinness, a Boxer, stood in front of me and would not let me leave. I opened the door and he pushed it closed with his nose. I thought he was being funny but I later realized that he was trying to tell me something.

    Thanks again for the article

    Hi John and Spirit,

As I was reading your post on animals from Spirit… I was imagining what the world would be like if cats and dogs did not even exist… and how that would feel to us!! It was really not a good feeling to contemplate such a condition. They really do bring us so much love and companionship!

Thanks for reminding us how wonderfully they bless us.

    Love and hugs,
    Jerry

Thanks very much, Jerry. I agree — this would be a sadder world if we did not have our animal family.

      Much love,
      John
