The Heart of the Matter by John Cali

Medical research shows most heart attacks happen between 6:00 a.m. and noon, with Monday mornings being the most common time.

You don’t have to be a cardiologist to understand the research. As with so many other dis-eases, heart problems are often caused by stress. The first part of the day is the most stressful for many, as they contemplate all they have to do that day.

But why Monday mornings? Well, you could make a logical argument that since Mondays are the first day of most people’s work week, that’s the time of highest stress — especially if you hate your job.

Spirit

We agree with John — stress is often the cause of many diseases of the body and mind. You live in a world filled with stress. If you pay a lot of attention to your news media that adds to whatever other stress you may be feeling.

We see so many of you working at jobs and careers you hate or, at least, strongly dislike. While we are not advocating you quit your job, we are saying you need to change something. That “something” is your perspective.

If you dislike where you are — whether it’s a job, a relationship, or anything else — you cannot get from where you are to where you want to go by hating where you are. That only continues to keep you stuck and unhappy.

However, if you begin to look for the positives in your “stuck” place, you will find your stress decreasing. Then, too, start making plans — doing whatever it takes — to move into a better place. Get very clear on what you want to manifest. Write it down. Then simply trust your higher self and the universe to bring it to you.

When you find yourself noticing the manifestation is not there yet, simply let go of your impatience. Keep trusting, knowing you’ve asked and, therefore, it must be given to you.

That simple process will, over time, greatly reduce the stress, and the dis-ease, you experience in your life. You need to take care of yourself first, before you can responsibly take care of others, your job, etc. You come first.

That is the heart of the matter — you come first. As one of your greatest teachers said so beautifully and simply, “The goal in life is to love more and be happy.” 1/

    Hi John,

All so very true, but at times hard to achieve, especially when it is someone you care about deeply and you see that they have no love for themselves and do not feel worthy, it is stressful to watch that, even though you know it is not your “stuff” but sometimes there is a glimmer of light and you grab it with both hands. This is what is happening with this dear friend that I have spoken to you about. I think you and Spirit said, “little steps” So my action to this stress, is to go out in my garden and commune with nature and all is well in my world, I only wish it was that simple for my friend.
    Thank you again.
Love and hugs to you John

      Hi Micki,

Thank you for your comments. I know it can be difficult with some folks, like your dear friend. I think you’re doing very well, and doing all the right things. As we both know, you cannot make his choices for him, but you can hold the light for him.

      Love & hugs,
      John

    Dear John,
    I’ve been suffering.
How did you know I needed this today?

    Thank you from my heart,

    Martha

I am remembering with deep peace and gratefulness the 10 days I spent with Thich Nhat Hanh at his Monastery

You’re most welcome, Martha. But I can’t take any credit — it was all due to my spirit guides. 🙂

Anyway, I’m glad it was timely for you.

      Blessings,
      John

        Hi John!

You are such a sweetie! I got a chuckle out of this one “I can’t take any credit — it was all due to my spirit guides.” That made me wonder .. did your spirit guides write it down? Did your spirit guides post it so that others could benefit from it?

Nice try at being humble, but we-all see right through it. YOU are the one bringing forth this wisdom, and publishing it so that the rest of us can share in it with you. So I say “credit where credit is due” .. and that’s you! (I don’t think your spirit guides will mind sharing in the co-creation with you ;))

Much love to you and all your readers! ♥♡♥

          Hi Karen,

Thanks very much. You’re right — but it wasn’t false humility. I know I’m a major part of this “production.” But that article was not what I had in mind for this week — that’s what I meant. So I just went along with “the gang.” 🙂 But I realize now I could have been clearer in my response to you.

I really appreciate your kind words.

          Lots of love & hugs,
          John
