To Predict or Not To Predict? by John Cali

As you may know, legendary psychic Sylvia Browne was harshly criticized this past week for a wrong prediction she made. Her prediction had to do with the kidnapping ten years ago of three women in Cleveland, Ohio (in the United States). One of the women was Amanda Berry. A year after the kidnapping Sylvia told Amanda’s mother her daughter had died and was “on the other side.”

My spirit guides prefer not to make predictions. Their reason? They say we have yet to write our future — or what we call the future. They will occasionally talk about probable or potential events in the future, but nothing more.

This is not a criticism of Sylvia Browne or of any other psychics or channels who make predictions. I consider them, including Sylvia, a blessing to all of us. They are gifted in their abilities to make predictions accurately most of the time. But not always.

Here’s what one of my spirit guides, has to say:

Time is simultaneous. There are probable realities, parallel to the one you currently experience.

Linear time, as you know it, does not exist in the realm of Spirit. All time is simultaneous. Everything that has ever existed, exists “now,” or will ever exist, exists right here, right now in this present moment.

Therefore, Sylvia could have tuned into a probable or parallel reality in which Amanda Berry did indeed die physically.

Because in the reality you’re aware of, where Amanda did not die, does not mean Sylvia was wrong. She had simply tuned into a parallel reality.

Here’s an interesting video of some psychic predictions, made over 30 years ago. A few of the predictions were eerily accurate, others were not.

great article! while i dont have perfect understanding of the different concepts i resonate with chiefs Josephs views.
I have had some 180 degree shifts in my beliefs and realities which sort of is walking into another reality that exists simultaneously parallelly, and other things that work in my life based on what Spirit has been saying.
So its easy to see these must be true too.

John, the video is fun, but my energetic reading of it says that it’s not authentic.

The person in the video does not believe a word of what he’s saying there. There is no resonance between his words, and how he feels as he’s speaking those words.

So he’s merely acting. It must be a hoax.

Thanks for your comments. I don’t know for sure if it’s genuine or not. But that was not my point in showing it. My point was to illustrate that even the best psychics, while often accurate in their predictions, can also be wrong at times.

“Therefore, Sylvia could have tuned into a probable or parallel reality in which Amanda Berry did indeed die physically.”

She didn’t. She received a vision that left room for different interpretations. She chose the wrong one, and said so publicly.

Here’s perhaps a spin-off topic for another blog post some time:

“If you could consciously and intentionally slip into a parallel reality, would you do it?”

    Possible responses:
“I’m scared of what I’d find.”
    “I don’t know how.”
“What about everything I leave behind?”

I’d venture that Seth and Spirit would respond: you do it all day long.
A Course in Miracles says: what are you waiting for?

Thanks very much, Eric. Great questions — perhaps we’ll do a blog post on them.

For example, when you bring yourself consciously and deliberately to a good-feeling place, you’ve accomplished it, in the most productive way.

So yes, exactly, you’re doing it all the time. It’s the most normal thing in the world.

It doesn’t seem as spectacular as Sci-Fi writers and so many others like to (misre-)present it, but it’s in fact much more spectacular, as you become personally aware of it and see the world (your world) shift before your very eyes.

John, I hesitate writing here and I know means I still have some resistance around this topic.Recently have gained some perspective and have decided to allow.

I’ve had pre-cog visions all my life. Not that I admitted them to many, Big theme for me this week. So your message once again, right on time.

When I was younger, I tried very hard to shut them down, Learned not to tell or face ridicule or worse. So a part of myself I denied.

At the same time, I sought my “Knowing’, those moments I was so connected to Life, a state of being I knew such peace and joy. A real contradiction, I can see that now. One begets the other, so to deny who I am wasn’t getting it.

I never knew for certain, btw, which visions would turn out to be ‘true’, or come to pass in real time, not until they did. Generally the closer to an event, the more reliable, but I haven’t kept score. So, maybe they did come true ‘some when else’, but not in my personal time line. Perhaps I was able to change things in some cases, but not in others.

Yes I’ve experience moments in the Now, outside of Time, where miracles can and do happen. I think we all have, just not always aware of it. Earlier this week, I spent an hour outside with my poppies as they were starting to bloom. I had to go get a pencil and paper and sketch them, found it difficult to stay with just ‘being’, and not always doing. But for a moment I did fall back and tasted again how it was when I was child, and each moment was new and endless. Time had no meaning for me then.

Think I was late to school once in kindergarten, had stopped to pick wildflowers…first time I ran into ‘time’ as defined by others as something I had to deal with here.

So, my guess is we are taught it, not something we come in with. But it is the meaning we’ve collectively held around time defines it for us. And those definitions are changing now. And maybe the reason some visionaries don’t see beyond this period ‘in time’, is because we are outgrowing time as it has been defined up to now?

Again, thanks for these posts. I like the reminders and the opportunity they present.

    love,
    Val

      Hi Val,

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I’m glad you found the post helpful.

Like you, I had “weird” experiences when I was very young — visits from spirits. I didn’t understand them, and never dared share them with my very Catholic family. It wasn’t until many years later it all made sense.

As you said, we all venture outside “time” as we know it, and without being aware of what we’re doing. I’d mentioned, in my reply to Conshana’s comments on this post, that Seth (channeled by Jane Roberts) said we sometimes cross over into parallel realities without knowing it.

My spirit guides have often said linear time (or time as we know it) does not exist where they are. And it doesn’t seem to exist for little children — as you said so beautifully, “each moment was new and endless” when you were a child. We should all be like little children! And just live in the present moment.

I agree with you that “we are outgrowing time as it has been defined up to now.” Linear time, in my view, seems to exist because we tap into all the probable realities, and string together those parts we’re drawn to. Thus we create what we call linear time. Of course, most of us are not doing that consciously, but we do it nonetheless. As I understand it, everything — past, present, and future — exists now. I think more and more people are coming to understand that.

Thanks again, Val. I hope you’re doing well.

      Love,
      John

Sadly, John, not everyone realizes the reality of multiple universes, and multiple realities within those universes.
My God is too huge, and too creative, to be limited to one Universe or one “Humanity”. Like you said, Sylvia may have tuned into an alternate, allied parallel reality. There are those who can, and do. IF the vibratory frequencies are close enough, (Say, within one degree on a compass), it would be very likely that there would be little to differentiate between those realities on a brief visit.

Just my two cents. Blessings to you and yours, John. Thank You.

    • John Cali

Thanks very much, Conshana. You reminded me of something Seth said years ago. He said most of us sometimes cross into parallel realities without realizing it. Often those realities are similar, even almost identical, to the reality we’re currently aware of.
