I rarely spend any time on the mainstream news media. But the other night I
turned on Wyoming Public Radio at the start of an interview with a prominent
national politician who, for our purposes, shall remain nameless and partyless.
The interviewer was questioning the guest about a hotly divisive political
issue. Some of the first words out of the politician’s mouth were, "We’re
right and they’re wrong." Meaning his party was right on this issue and
the other folks didn’t know what the hell they were talking about. You know,
that old approach so many humans take: "There’s my way and then there’s
the wrong way."
As I heard those words, I was amazed, though I don’t know why. After I
thought about it, I realized politicians certainly have no monopoly on that
totally close-minded and definitely unspiritual way of thinking.
In fact, as I thought more about it, I realized a goodly percentage of the
human race and its institutions think like that. Certainly governments, but also
schools, churches even, "new age" groups, and many others.
This message from Chief Joseph is more somber and solemn than is typical. It
was certainly not what I expected. But I suspect there are many of us who need
to hear it.
Here’s Joseph.
Chief Joseph
Have you ever stopped to
think about the enormous consequences you, as a human race, have reaped from the
realms of righteousness?
The very word,
"righteousness," probably conjures up in your minds some unpleasant,
and possibly painful, images.
There have been more deaths, more
wars, more of all you would consider human tragedy, created by the "us
versus them" mentality. You know–"Our way cannot possibly be wrong
because, after all, it is OUR way! Therefore, THEIR way must be wrong."
Look back at your history books.
They chronicle quite accurately the devastatingly human consequences of such a
totally unenlightened approach to life on your Mother Earth–an approach many
individuals, groups, and institutions still buy into unhesitatingly and eagerly.
And where has it gotten you,
individually and as a race? Well, if you look at it from a physical, human
perspective, not very far.
Are your technological weapons of
mass destruction an improvement over Caesar’s horse-driven armies as they
invaded ancient Gaul?
Well, in one way, yes. You can kill
a lot more people a lot more quickly than he could. It took him 8 years to
defeat the Gauls. It takes you 8 days or 8 hours or 8 minutes to vanquish your
enemies.
How far you have come! And how
little you have grown!
Life was not meant to be a
struggle. Life was not meant to be a war of "right" versus
"wrong." Life was meant to be an absolute joy–a JOY! A joy in the
remembering of the reason you came to this life to begin with.
You have somehow been convinced,
somewhere along your physical path, there is not room for all of you on your
Mother Earth. And therefore, those who are "different" from you must
be obliterated.
For, after all, "We are right
and they are wrong."
If you stay on that path, there will soon be none of you left to argue, fight, and kill over who’s
right and who’s wrong.

Since 1992, John Cali has been communicating with a
non-physical entity called Joseph. In one of his many physical lifetimes, this
spirit was incarnated as the legendary Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe in
what is now the state of Oregon in the northwestern USA. These messages are a
blend of information from Joseph, other spirits in the "Joseph group,"
and John.
John can be reached by email here
