One night last month I was baking my dinner in the oven. When it was done I carefully removed the hot pan and placed it on the stove top. A moment later, without thinking, I picked up the pan with a bare hand. A searing pain surged through my hand and up my arm.
I dropped the pan, staring in disbelief at the huge red burn marks in the palm of my hand. At that moment, Spirit said to me, “This too shall pass.” He’s always saying that! 😉
My hand was throbbing. I placed my other hand on the burned one and visualized healing energies pouring into it for a few moments. Then I went about salvaging the remnants of my dinner. My burnt hand still hurt, but the pain had subsided, though the burn marks looked dreadful.
The next morning I’d forgotten all about the incident. My hand didn’t hurt any more. So I wasn’t even thinking about it. Later that day, remembering the burn, I looked at my hand. It was perfectly normal. The burn marks had vanished and there was no pain or discomfort whatsoever. A serious burn had completely healed in less than 24 hours.
Then I realized the old axiom, “Time heals all wounds,” was not necessarily true. It’s not time that heals us, physically or any other way. It’s our belief in our own inner resources to accomplish the healing. As Spirit has said before, time is totally irrelevant when it comes to healing.
Our beliefs can heal us in an instant. Or in a few hours. Or they can take years. Or they may never heal us, in this lifetime at least. It all depends on the beliefs we hold. Time has nothing to do with it.

Your physical bodies are such remarkable, amazing mechanisms. They are far more resilient and far more powerful than most of you have ever imagined. And they are superbly sensitive to vibrations. Particularly to the vibrations of your own thoughts and beliefs.
You could come down with a dozen of the most dreadful diseases known to humanity, all terminal. And if, by some means or another, you could completely distract yourself from the dis-eases, your bodies would quickly heal themselves. They would return to a state of perfect balance, perfect health.
It is not your bodies which prevent their own healing. It is you and your beliefs in dis-ease and dis-harmony.
Your bodies’ natural state is one of well-being, of perfect health. You did not intend, from your soul level, to come into this lifetime to suffer. Obviously, however, many of you changed course once you incarnated.
Your world today has a stronger belief in dis-ease than in wellness. And that belief has adversely affected the well-being of your bodies. There are many of your human professions whose very reason for being is your belief is dis-ease, and your dis-belief in wellness.
And yet this is not your natural state. Health is your natural state. Every part of your being knows that instinctively. Every cell, molecule, and atom in your bodies know that.
So if your belief in wellness is strong enough you enable your bodies to heal themselves. Often instantly, more often over a period of time, though it does not have to be a long time.
And if your belief is not that strong, then the best thing you can do is to take your attention from dis-ease, or what you do not want, and put it on what you do want–wellness. You don’t have to be focused 100 percent of the time on wellness, but wellness has to be your predominant focus.
Gradually, with persistence and ignoring the conventional “wisdom” of the world, you will build up your belief in wellness, in perfect health. And you will return to the natural state of well-being that is your birthright.
