Beginning today. treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster. Your life will never be the same again. ~ Og Mandino, “The Greatest Miracle in the World”

One of our greatest joys in spirit is seeing humans celebrating, and just plain having fun.

Many of you are very good at that during this time in your linear calendar. But not always so good at it the rest of the year.

You often find yourselves feeling more kindly toward others during December. The vibration of kindness raises the level of your awareness, and touches those around you at a deep level of their awareness.

In fact, when you are being kind, whether to others, to yourselves, the animals, etc., you raise the awareness of your entire planet. Even we in the realms of spirit can feel your “kindness vibration.”

This is a powerful healing force each of you possess. And it’s so simple. All you have to do is to be kind whenever you can, whether it’s easy or not. You can always choose to be kind.

That is what “the Christmas spirit,” or “the spirit of the season,” is all about.

Pure and simple kindness, given with love and compassion, will heal others, yourselves, the planet.

You, one person standing alone, have that much power. This is the power that can literally change lives, and transform your world into a far more peaceful place than you have ever known.

Holiday Wreath

In many cultures December is a month of holiday celebrations, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Three Kings Day, St. Lucia Day, and Ramadan. No matter what you celebrate, or even if you don’t celebrate at all, let’s all make December a time of kindness—and then extend that time through the whole new year, and beyond.

What can you do to spread the spirit of kindness, especially at this festive time of year? Remember to be kind to all in your life, including yourself. Please share your thoughts with us below.

This Mandino quote is a wake up call for me. Thank you so much, John.
The alcoholics is my family are not in good health, any of them. What if I did get a phonecall announcing that one of them had suddenly gone Home? How would I feel about the way I treated them, with my self righteous, condemning positions, all in the name of Truth? My short sighted attempt at boundaries. Yes, healthy boundaries are good. I don’t allow anyone to walk across my heart with muddy boots. But what a case I have built against these poor souls, by condemning them for what they have done or not done. What if Jesus had done that? I mean it’s a very old human game, this ego business.
So if/when that phonecall comes, (and it will) wouldn’t I wish I had simply extended the milk of human kindness to help them ease their pain? Healthy boundaries should feel like a semi-permeable membrane, not a stone wall.

Yes, we are all called to extend Jesus Love, Christ Love. I am Martha the Christ, you are John the Christ, Og the Christ, Everyone the Christ.
We all deserve that Love. Not just at Christmas when the glow is on. Every day.

My ego mind tells me I have been betrayed by the alcoholics in my family. Is that true? Well, that’s how it feels. Who betrayed them? By condemning them I betray myself; the Ego’s way of blotting out the Christ.
It’s a trap. My so called safe place (without the mean people in it) becomes a fortess of solitude. The loneliest place on Earth. With me snarling in my dark cave of resentment. Not EXACTLY a day at the beach! Wow.. it feels so good to admit this. Okay, we have an eternity to get it all done but, why prolong misery?
Until I let go of the shadow unforgiveness puts on my heart, I cannot truly extend Love. Partial love, maybe, conditional Love, but only to the nice ones… if you treat me right. But these aren’t the ones who need my love the most. I have witheld love “from those who have hurt me, defiled me, said all manner of evil against me.” Yes, I have been persecuted as other prophets and many of us who gather here have. Jesus talks about this. The ” bad people” are our Call to LOVE MORE, not LESS!” Matt Kahn talks about this.

ALL the great Masters talk about this!!

How is it I can see this so easily and clearly now, this Ego Game I have been up to?! It’s all in the timing. I guess I wasn’t ready before. Taking in those wise gentle powerful words from Og Mandino makes me want to drop everything and Love. The other is such a colossal waste of time and energy and missed opportunities for happiness, closeness and healing and more LOVE.
    FEAR POLARIZES.

These lessons from A Course in Miracles come to mind:

“The Ego is suspicious at best, vicious at worst.”

“Would you rather be right or happy?”

“Everything in life is either Love — or a Call for Love..”

✨The Holiest Place on Earth is Where an Ancient Hatred has Become a Present Love..✨

(This last one for me is the most powerful..)

    My Prayer:

God, Goddess, Spirit, Source of All That Is,
Help me to feel a genuine desire to give up being right, to no longer feel a need to control things so that I can feel the illusion of safety. Help me to easily lay down the bludgeons I have used against myself and others. Fill me with the milk and honey of human kindness this Christmas and every day I live and move and have my being on this Earth. Fill me with the Grace to forgive all, especially myself for any perceived errors and to remember that we are all of us, Innocents.
And may we all follow that Christmas Star that leads us Home to Comfort and Joy and Love and kindness toward all, no matter what, every day, not just on Christmas.

    And So It Is. Amen.

    Love to All,

    Martha

Thank you so much, Martha, for so eloquently and powerfully sharing your message with all of us! And your timing is perfect—that time of year when our hearts are a bit more open to all. As Tiny Tim says in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, “God bless us, every one.”

God bless you, Martha. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

      Love,
      John

    • Martha

Thank you, John. God Bless You, too. God is blessing us. Let us bless one anofher.
” May You Be Blessed” as Matt Kahn says and teaches as a simple practice.

I think I got the words to the song wrong. I was singing,
” Let There Be Peace On Earth
and Let it Begin with YOU..”
Ha ha. A little forgiveness humor. Well, I have to laugh at myself sometimes. With kindness, of course.
Love is gentle, Love is Kind.

How much easier to just be that.
Today is the first day of the rest of my Light!

      Love, Martha

Yes, my intention is to be kind to everyone. My motto is “Follow your heart.” Brother John, have a great holiday season and new year!!!
    Love, George

    • John Cali

Thanks very much, George. Indeed, we should all follow our hearts. We could transform the world if we did.

You have a great holiday season too — Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

      Love John

  3. Toni

Forty plus years ago, newly single with two small children and no money, I went to put garbage in the can. I took the lid off and laying on top of everything was a $20.00 bill. Back then, that was a lot of money. I don’t know who put it there. I continue to try to pay it forward whenever I can.

    Merry Christmas, John! xoxo

    • John Cali

What a beautiful story, Toni! Thank you for sharing it.

Merry Christmas to you too, my dear! Love, John
