Thirsty…for what?

Berna

I’ve often read that you should drink plenty of water—around 2–3 liters a day—because it benefits your health in many ways. On the other hand, drinking too much water can be harmful and may even lead to serious health issues. I’ve never felt comfortable drinking that much water. What’s your view on this?

Spirit

Well, I’m always in favor of listening to your body. Your body knows what it needs—drink when you feel the need to drink.

But the real question is: Do you truly listen to your body?… Read more

Easter message

posted in: Blog, channeling | 2

Spirit, it is Easter this weekend. Is there something you would like to tell our readers?

Spirit

Yes, there is. There is much to tell. The point is: are the readers open to it?

It is about being Love, remembering that this is what you are. You are Love. God is Love, and therefore you are God as well.

In your mind you can remember that you are Love, but are you living it?

Jesus (Jeshua) was telling you this.… Read more

Watching the Thinker

Spirit, can you please comment on this quote by Eckhart Tolle?

Spirit

Sure. As you know, he is spot on.
Your mind goes on and on without us even being aware of it. You are not aware of how powerful you truly are.

Everything is created by your mind and the feelings that arise from it.
Our non-stop thinking not only creates feelings like anxiety, fear, anger, and worry, but also good moods, confidence, cheerfulness, and uplifting feelings.

It is all a matter of vibration — of frequency — arising from all the activity in the mind.… Read more

Feeling Guilty About Being Lazy

posted in: Blog, channeling | 2

When people walk a spiritual path, they often come to understand how important practices such as conscious breathing, reflecting on wisdom they have encountered, and doing certain exercises can be. When they neglect these activities, they may begin to judge themselves, which can lead to feelings of guilt.

Spirit

Feeling guilty is a waste of energy because it is an unnecessary emotion. You are exactly where you are meant to be.

As Jeshua/Jesus teaches in A Course in Miracles and The Way of Mastery, you need do nothing.… Read more

Human Goodness

John

In today’s world, it can be  challenging, to put it mildly, to believe in human goodness. There is so much out there that makes it easy to believe humanity is going to hell in a hand basket, as the old saying goes.

Spirit

Berna and Johnny came from Roman Catholic families. (Although they no longer practice that religion.) One of the basic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in those days was all humans were born sinners. Even innocent, little newborn babies!… Read more

Playful Spirit

Recently, we had an experience involving a disappearing object.

We were having supper one evening. I brought our plates to the kitchen, each with a piece of leftover chicken on it. I then went back to the table to collect the remaining items. When I returned to the kitchen, I noticed that one of the plates was empty.

I asked Johnny, “Didn’t you have a piece of chicken on your plate?” He said yes, and we looked at each other and said, “Perhaps Spirit has something to do with this.… Read more

Being Human and Enlightened

posted in: Blog, channeling | 4

Berna

Recently, Johnny and I had a conversation about what being enlightened looks like in our daily lives. We also discussed where we believe we are on our journey. We discovered he and I have different perspectives on that.

We recognize that it is not so much a journey, since we are already enlightened beings. Rather, it is about how many illusions we have created. The big illusion is the belief we are separate from God.

This led me to wonder: does an embodied master still experience feelings such as anger, doubt, irritation, or impatience?… Read more

What Time Is It Now? Follow-up

posted in: Blog, channeling | 8

John

Here is Spirit’s follow-up message on the subject of time.

Spirit

Your obsessive preoccupation with time (or the passage of time) is, as we’ve said before, unhealthy and wasteful.

Why do we say that?

You allow yourselves, your choices about your lives, to become distorted by the way you perceive what you call “time.”

Time is an illusion.

But it is a useful illusion. You could not live your physical lives in a healthy, useful way if you did not have this perception of time that you do have.… Read more

What Time Is It Now?

John

I often lose track of what day it is and what time it is. The other day, I asked Berna, “What day is it?”
She replied, “Friday.”
And I responded, “Really?”
That was a trigger for Spirit to react.

Spirit

The more you are focused on the illusion you call “time,” the more chance there is you will misuse it.

What do we mean by that?

Well, humans in general have what we would call an unhealthy obsession with time.… Read more

Can A Painting Predict The Future?

Berna

This week, a friend of mine shared a story from her watercolor class that I found remarkable and interesting.

One of the participants—let’s call her Paula—had been painting a scene of a woman swimming underwater. The very next day, she received the heartbreaking news that her niece had drowned in a tragic accident.

Paula told my friend that this wasn’t the first time she had experienced intuitive or even predictive moments that seem to connect to something beyond our usual understanding of time and space.… Read more

Just Being

posted in: Blog, channeling | 0

A few days ago, we had a conversation about “just being” as we sat enjoying the view of our garden.

That conversation led us to a deeper question for Spirit: What does it truly mean to “just be”?

Spirit:
To just be is to rest in the truth of who you are — beyond all the layers of who you think you are.

It is the stillness beneath the noise, the light behind the masks. It is your natural state.

When you live through the lens of your thoughts — your ideas about life, reality, or even yourself — the mind takes over.… Read more

Rising Above Fear: A Call to Love and Light

posted in: Blog, channeling | 4

With everything happening in the United States and around the world, it can be difficult to remain calm and at peace. Feelings of anger, fear, and disgust can arise easily—even when you know that all is well and that everything serves a higher purpose.

Spirit
Indeed, everything has a higher purpose. All events are part of a process of bringing dark energies to the surface so they can be released and cleared.

When you respond to events with fear, anger, or other negative emotions, you contribute to these dark energies instead of helping to transform them.Read more

The Greatest Gift

John

What is the greatest gift you’ve ever received? Take a few minutes, or more, to think about that. Now, what is the greatest gift you’ve ever given?

This old world we live in today is often weary and worn. Why do you suppose that is?

Spirit

Johnny is right–you do live in a weary and worn-out world. You can probably think of a thousand reasons for why that seems to be true.

One of the greatest reasons, we suspect, is you don’t always feel people listen to you.… Read more

Pope Francis and The Power of Kindness

posted in: Blog, channeling, kindness | 2

As virtually the whole world knows by now, Pope Francis has died. One of the hallmarks of his reign was his compassion and kindness.

In today’s world, many of us are growing weary of all the turmoil and trouble assaulting our senses nearly everywhere we turn. Is there no relief or respite from all the chaos and cruelty?

As we were writing this post, I was reminded of a time long ago, when I was growing up in New York State.… Read more

The Disappearing Ink Bottle

John

A few years ago, I had a strange experience which baffled me when it happened. It was strange — but, at the same time, not strange.

I was sitting at my desk and needed to write some notes to myself about tasks I wanted to do the next day. I picked up my old-fashioned fountain pen (which I love writing with). But I hadn’t used it in a while, and the ink was low.

So, I opened my desk drawer where I keep a bottle of fountain pen ink.… Read more

Helping Others vs. Self-Care

Berna

This year I started practicing yoga because I noticed my body had become stiff. That was my signal: it was time to do something about it.

The body is the vehicle with which you, as spirit, travel through life. Just as you maintain a car to keep it running smoothly, the body deserves the same attention. Without regular care and maintenance, you risk breaking down, both physically and mentally.

Just as you have your car inspected annually, you should also periodically check in with your body.… Read more

The Prayer of Saint Francis

posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration | 6

Above is the complete original text of the Prayer of Saint Francis. It is a line-by-line English translation of the earliest known French publication of the prayer in 1912.

No one really knows who wrote the prayer. It may or may not have actually been Saint Francis. It doesn’t matter who the real author was.

Spirit has talked about Saint Francis and his prayer before. But today we’d like to review it again. It seems particularly timely now with all the turmoil and chaos engulfing our world.… Read more

How Do You Get Through Your Day?

The pan flute player in this picture was born without hands and parts of his arms. His parents and siblings all played instruments. But, obviously, he could not. His father kept thinking about a way for his son to also play music. One day the father came home with a pan flute for his son. The son then locked himself in his room with the flute.

After many hours, he came out of his room and said to his parents: “I am going to become the best pan flute player in the world.”… Read more

Doomscrolling

It’s only recently that Berna and I came across the word “doomscrolling.” We hadn’t heard it before, and had to look it up to see what it meant.

The Mayo Clinic defines doomscrolling as “The obsessive and unproductive consumption of negative information on social media.”

I guess I’m a bit out of touch with today’s world, or at least with social media.

Actually, though, “doomscrolling” is just a new word for what, in our opinion, is one of humanity’s worst habits–always expecting the worst.Read more

The Singing Angel

Recently I was in Ireland for a week’s retreat. The retreat’s focus was on the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer as taught by Jeshua (Jesus) to Jayem (www.wayofmastery.com). Aramaic was Jeshua’s original language.

At one point we were all chanting the first word of this prayer, “Ah bwoon,” for ten minutes. Each of us chanted at our own breathing rhythm. Sometimes I stopped to feel and listen, because the energies were so incredibly powerful and special.

One of us was a female singer with an angelic voice.… Read more

People Are Evil

posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration | 2

If you spend much time with the mainstream news media, you may think you’re losing your mind. Maybe you think people are evil, and the whole world is headed for hell in a handbasket.

Spirit

Among humans, as we have discovered from observing you for many centuries, there is a “bias,” if you will, toward expecting the worst in life. And, there’s an even worse bias toward expecting the worst in yourself and in your fellow humans.

You don’t need us to remind you of where that inevitably leads you.Read more

One day I came home in the afternoon and it turned out that Johnny had lost his voice due to the heavy pollen in the air. He could barely talk.

I said “Let’s have a glass of champagne together. That will soothe your throat.”

So, we did. Johnny was telling me all kinds of things. I said: have you noticed you have been talking like normal and you only have taken two sips of the champagne?”

We both joked and laughed about it.… Read more

Karma

posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration | 2

We’ve talked about karma before. Recently Berna was telling me she’d read a surprising comment about karma in a Facebook group.

Someone was talking about a recent unpleasant event in her life.  She said it  probably was caused by something she had done in a previous life—-as if she had to repay a debt or was being punished.

Berna’s opinion (which I share) is karma is often a weapon people use to instill fear in others. Or to control them.… Read more

Are You Allowing Life To Touch You?

If you’re paying much attention to the mainstream news media today, you’re aware, perhaps painfully so, of all the turmoil and chaos in our world today. If you’re paying too much attention, scientists call that “doomscrolling.”

Personally, Berna and I pay little attention to the mainstream news—only enough so we know a bit about current events.

A recent article we read reported researchers had concluded exposure to negative news is a “source of vicarious trauma.” In other words, people are dangerously affected despite not experiencing trauma first-hand.… Read more

Autism

posted in: Blog, channeling, healing | 1

Since many people are labeled with autism these days, we think readers might be curious about Spirit’s perspective on this subject.

Spirit

Autistic people are drawn inside. They close themselves off in a way. They want as little stimulation from the outside as possible.

All these busy energies, the confusion everywhere, the insincerity of people—they pick these up and they make their minds wild, so to speak.

They are so sensitive to these outside influences, because they are spirits with a higher vibration than the average person.… Read more
