Are You Allowing Life To Touch You?

If you’re paying much attention to the mainstream news media today, you’re aware, perhaps painfully so, of all the turmoil and chaos in our world today. If you’re paying too much attention, scientists call that “doomscrolling.”

Personally, Berna and I pay little attention to the mainstream news—only enough so we know a bit about current events.

A recent article we read reported researchers had concluded exposure to negative news is a “source of vicarious trauma.” In other words, people are dangerously affected despite not experiencing trauma first-hand. Hence the term “doomscrolling.”

The idea of letting ourselves be touched by life is taking on a whole new, and often unpleasant, meaning.

Spirit

We certainly do not advise anyone to “bury their heads in the sand,” to use one of your popular expressions. In other words, to ignore what’s happening in the world around you.

You definitely do need to pay attention to the world around you. Your physical survival depends on it. The point we wish to impress upon you today is you must pay attention to what you’re paying attention to.

Many of you race through your lives paying attention to what? Often, to all the wrong things. To war, poverty, murders, natural disasters, etc. etc.

Yes, you must be aware of all these aspects of your lives. But you get into trouble when you dwell on doom and gloom.

You get in your life what you pay the most attention to. What you think is what you become.

Yes, your world is riddled with sadness, death, sickness, and so on. But those do not define your world, nor do they define you.

Many of you are familiar with Jane Roberts and her spirit guide, Seth.

Among Seth’s many wise ideas is one Johnny considers his most powerful: You create your own reality. In other words, you and you alone are responsible for the life you are living, all its joys and sorrows, every aspect of that life.

We do not want you beating up on yourselves for whatever has gone “wrong” in your life. Actually, nothing has ever gone wrong.

Everything you have experienced in your entire lifetime was created by God/Goddess. That’s you. You are God.

So it’s all good!

You are never lost or doomed to a sad, joyless and miserable life. Nothing more, nothing less.

Your circumstances matter little. What matters is what you choose to do with those circumstances.

You are in control, only you. For you are Goddess/God. Again, you must pay attention to what you are paying attention to.

Then you will reclaim your power, and your life. You are that powerful.

Believe it! Accept it! Act it! You are all powerful. You are all Goddess/God.

    Brilliant post, love it!

When we take responsibility for our lives and not blame the other guy or God for what is happening, life is so much sweeter.
In my own life I noticed how what I was thinking came to past. Simply the more you concentrate on the negative in your life, the more you pull towards you.

Seth has always been my beacon, my light in the darkness and will always remain so. My life is not perfect but that would be so boring!

Loved this post, thank you to you and Spirit for it.

Now I will pull up my sox and finish my laundry:)

    lots of love and hugs

Thank you, Jeannie, for your comment. I am glad you like it.
And yes, no one else is to blame. Nothing in our life is happening TO us.
It is all happening FOR us.
