Immortality: Hoax or Victory over Death?

Immortality lies not in the things you leave behind, but in the people your life has touched. ~ Anonymous

The quest for immortality is as old as humanity itself. The methods humans have explored to see if they can live forever are countless.

What’s the meaning of it all? Would you want to live forever? Would you want to live forever in a physical body, or some variation of one?

An article I read recently in The Guardian talked about some Silicon Valley folks, obviously with a lot of money, searching for the magic key to immortality. They include Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and billionaire Peter Thiel.

We love this topic Johnny has chosen this week. Immortality has fascinated humans for centuries. Would it be a victory over death? Or just a hoax?

Here are a few thoughts you might want to consider:

  • The Creator did not design your physical bodies to live forever.

  • You, as sons and daughters of God/Goddess, would find physical immortality extremely boring and frustrating after a while.

  • The reason is you would not be able to fulfill the functions you, at the soul level, chose before you incarnated (or reincarnated).

  • Even if you could achieve physical immortality, you would create more problems than you would resolve.

  • Of course, the major “problem” you think you have to resolve is physical death.

  • Physical death is not a problem. It is simply another step on your never-ending journey.

  • Physical immortality, if you could achieve it, would be the real problem.

  • Physical death is not the end of you.

  • There is no end of you.

  • You have already achieved immortality. But not of the physical kind.

  • Physical immortality is an impossible dream.

I’d definitely not want to live forever, in the same physical body, which means the same incarnation. We reincarnate so that we may experience different aspects of Life that aren’t possible existing in one single life or incarnation.
By living one life, you lose the chance to experience so much more! Maybe those who seek immortality believe we only live one life? I don’t know, but I’ll pass on that one and be happy knowing that my soul, my consciousness will always exist, with or without a physical body. Much love!

      Thank you, Tracy.

I also think those who want physical immortality may not believe there is anything beyond this current life.

      Much love to you also!

    Part II

Of course, the major “problem” you think you have to resolve is physical death.

    Of course.

Physical death is not a problem. It is simply another step on your never-ending journey.

Again, let death come after centuries not decades.. Won’t change much in a never-ending journey.

Physical immortality, if you could achieve it, would be the real problem.

Your opinion. Are we God or mere pawns subject to wills outside our own?

You have already achieved immortality. But not of the physical kind.

In an infinite Universe there must also be physical immortality, otherwise creation itself wouldn’t be infinite.

Physical immortality is an impossible dream.

Impossible is not in God’s vocabulary.

Part I [Comment was too long]

The Creator did not design your physical bodies to live forever.

I AM the Creator, and even if I decided that MY body (not talking about others) was going to perish, as a free and sovereign entity I can change that decision.

You, as sons and daughters of God/Goddess, would find physical immortality extremely boring and frustrating after a while.

Yes, after several centuries of fun and great times, I may get bored. So what? I’ll just turn into a light body and go play in some other form/dimension.

The reason is you would not be able to fulfill the functions you, at the soul level, chose before you incarnated (or reincarnated).

Eh? Time is an illusion, so any function can wait a few centuries or millennia.

Even if you could achieve physical immortality, you would create more problems than you would resolve.

Overpopulation? Again, I’m not talking about +everyone+ becoming immortal or semi-immortal.
