We’ve talked about karma before. Recently Berna was telling me she’d read a surprising comment about karma in a Facebook group.
Someone was talking about a recent unpleasant event in her life. She said it probably was caused by something she had done in a previous life—-as if she had to repay a debt or was being punished.
Berna’s opinion (which I share) is karma is often a weapon people use to instill fear in others. Or to control them.
Let’s see what Spirit has to say about this.
Spirit
There are few subjects so misunderstood by humans as karma. You often use it to control others (and yourselves) in negative, fearful ways.
Karma is not something imposed upon humans by an angry vengeful god. Yet you often perceive it that way.
In fact, God has nothing to do with karma. A loving God would have nothing to do with what you call karma. A vengeful god would delight in beating up on humans with karma. (Of course, no such god exists.)
People sometimes ask us the best way to clear “bad karma.” Karma is nothing more than cause and effect. Or, to put it another way, what you sow is what you reap. It’s that simple. It is nothing to fear. And you certainly have nothing to “clear.”
You are in control of your lives. Forget about karma. It’s an illusion you’ve tortured yourselves with for centuries.
You live in a loving universe ruled by a loving God, if you want to think about it that way.
But remember who God is. S/He is you.

I never liked the idea of karma. We are self creator, we do everything to ourselves.
In a dream I reached a shore, climbed from the boat onto land. I was walking and talking to a friend when suddenly I was attacked. I was shocked and looked at my friend and he said, ” that’s not mine” so it was mine , meaning I created it and then the attack was gone. I did it to me, once we realize we at the creator of joy or pain this improve greatly.
Great post, I enjoyed it
