Slow Down—It’s Life-Changing

America is a country that doesn’t know where it is going, but is determined to set a speed record getting there. ~ Laurence J. Peter, Canadian educator

We live in a dizzy world filled with distractions literally everywhere we turn. It seems no matter what we’re doing, we’re constantly being hounded by someone or something pressuring us to do something else. Or to do more, often more than is humanly possible.

We live in a world where there are only two speeds—fast and faster.

Our world is driving many folks crazy—often, literally.

Isn’t it time we reclaimed our lives, our sanity, our peace of mind? It’s time to slow down.

Spirit

Speed—reckless and hair-brained—seems to be the goal of human life today. As the quotation above says, the goal is to set a speed record.

You all know that’s simply insane. You know it’s insane. But you do it anyway.

We urge you to take a moment—a quiet moment—in your day to think about all this. What are you gaining?

The purpose of your life is not to see how fast you can live it, from birth to death. The purpose of your life is to live it fully and joyfully, and to be of service to others and yourselves.

You cannot serve others, or yourselves, if you are rushing through life, never taking the time to savor the moment—to be fully present in that moment with love and joy.

If you simply slow down and stop, you will find the peace of mind you all yearn for. You will find the peace of mind you’ve seemingly lost in the rush.

It may seem counterintuitive, but the more you slow down, the more you will get done.

The benefits are countless. You will become healthier. Less stress equals better health. Your relationships will grow closer and more loving. You will become more immune to all the negativity your modern world heaps upon you.

Most of all, you will recover that deep sense of inner peace you never really lost. You’ve just lost sight of it.

Once you remember that feeling of inner peace, your lives will become the joyful, loving experiences they are meant to be.

Slow down. It’s life-changing. It may even be life-saving.
