What’s Your New Year’s Resolution? by John Cali & Spirit

Achievable goals are the first step to self-improvement. ~ J.K. Rowling

a-new-year-a-new-start

According to a survey by the Australian company, finder.com, the most common reason people fail to keep new year’s resolutions is setting unrealistic goals. And about 10% of the survey participants said they made too many resolutions.

Sound familiar? I did all that for many years. But no more.

Most new year’s resolutions are focused on changing things about ourselves we don’t like. How about if we turn that around and start appreciating all the things we love about ourselves?

Here are a few words from Spirit.

We would love to see more of you viewing yourselves as we view you.

Your cultures have certainly “brainwashed” you into seeing yourselves in practically every way possible—except for who you truly are.

So we suggest you make your new year’s resolution this year of 2016, and every year for the rest of your time on earth, simply to strive to be who you truly are—your true self.

Who is your true self? Do you even know?

Your true self is that all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise, all-loving being you were created as. That is how we see you. That is how God sees you—or whatever name you prefer to use for that all-pervasive divine energy. God and we see you as the pure, powerful being of light and love you have always been. And still are.

Your beloved planet now, more than at any other time in human history, needs you to wake up—to become your true self.

What does it mean to become your true self?

You can start with loving yourself unconditionally. And doing whatever it takes to find inner peace. The more peaceful you are within, the more peaceful you will be without, all around you. You all know your planet needs more peacemakers now than she ever has. Be one of those loving peacemakers.

Do not play small. Do not feel unworthy. Do not feel powerless. You are none of that. See yourselves as we see you—big, worthy, and powerful. That is your true self.

Above all, just keep loving yourself—and everyone around you, your planet. And, yes, even the world’s troublemakers.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe. You are love. Claim your power and use it to fulfill all your dreams—and humanity’s eternal dream of peace on earth.

It all starts with loving yourself.

I’d like to suggest we all make this simple new year’s resolution for 2016: “I will strive to love myself unconditionally in every way, and see myself as Spirit sees me.”

Hi John. This year I decided to not make any new year’s resolutions. But, in doing so did I just make a resolution, ha ha? Just kidding. Laughter and Love to you, John. And to all who read this.

John, A benefit of our new national political leadership is that I now must rely upon myself and friends like you for inspiring myself. I should not require a political leader for inspiration though I must admit I was inspired by our leader for the last eight years. Love, George

Finally a resolution I can live with 🙂 Never been much into resolutions but I am grateful to now have a new answer if anyone should ask me – “I resolve to be myself” I suspect it will mostly go over the heads of those who make typical resolutions but I think it is superb. Happy New Year, John – love to you and Spirit – always a pleasure to read your words and have them resonate with me. Thanks for being such a diligent writer.

Awesome advice. I really love this! You’re right—we should never play small. And each day is a new beginning.

Of this one thing I am resolute;

That Love is who I AM
and that’s the Truth!

Happy New You!

We can learn so much about ourselves by simply watching the animals. All we need to do is love ourselves, accept we are more than we think and work towards being that More we are.

Amen to what Spirit said today. Earlier I wrote a poem about a squirrel who was itself no matter what. I hope it resonates with all.

Going On
by: Jean S. Horn

little squirrel missing half your tail
how you do love to play
climbing trees, chasing leaves
jumping, scampering, running
to your own sweet song

you do not seem to care
that you are short half a tail
you just simply go on
as if there was no change at all

your song echoes in your spirit
it echoes in your heart
you are whole as you are
regardless if you are missing a part
