In my personal life, I’ve found meditation a most powerful tool. I’ve meditated every day over 40 years, cannot imagine life without it. It can work magic in your life.
The benefits of meditation are many. It will help and heal you in all areas of your life—physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.
There are many ways to meditate. Our purpose here today is not to teach you meditation methods. There is plenty of good information on that available today.
What is important is that you choose a method that appeals to you personally. It does not matter what others have chosen.
Avoid those who say there is only one, or only a few, proper ways to meditate. There are many. All are good.
The primary benefit of meditation, in our view, is that it puts you in touch with all that is, or—if you prefer—God.
The only place you will find God is within. You will not find Him/Her anywhere else—in a church, religion, spiritual practice, spiritual teachings, etc.
Those things can help you find God if they direct you to the world within, the universe, divine energy—whatever words you want to use.
We have said many times over the years you are God. There is nothing to seek, nothing to find. It is all within you.
Having said all that, what are some of the benefits of a regular meditation practice? We stress the word “regular.” That means, ideally, every day. Or at least as often as you can.
Some of the benefits of meditation are:
- Greater physical health. For example, lower blood pressure.
- Greater peace of mind, that sense of that inner calm you carry with you constantly.
- Deeper, more loving relationships with family, friends, all others in your world.
- A greater sense of life purpose—what you came here to do. That life purpose is unique to you. No one else on the planet can do it as you can.
Those are only a few of the countless benefits of meditation. You will find many more as you practice meditation regularly.
It is not too strong a statement to say meditation is one of the most powerful ways for you to find the peace, love, and joy you have been searching for all your life.
It’s that simple. That is the magic of meditation.
