How would you answer the question our title asks?

When I asked myself that question, I had to stop to think about it. What would I do? How would I spend the hours I knew would be my last in this lifetime?

Many years ago I had a dear friend, now long gone, whose life was a near-constant struggle. He struggled with virtually everything and everyone, including himself. He once described his life to me, shortly before his untimely death, as “reeling from one crisis to another.” That was a pretty accurate description.

I was brought up in the Judeo-Christian tradition, as I know many of you were. We were taught the only road to success was hard work through pain and struggle. I bought into that perspective for much of my life. But no more.
