One of our friends recently wrote us about the religious teachings she grew up with. She speaks of a “different slant” on creating your own reality. I grew up with that same “different slant.” So I can easily relate to what she said.

The past several weeks, I’ve been switching from my old computer system to a new one. I haven’t bought any new computers in years, and it was a real awakening for me to discover how much more complex they are today. Especially for someone like me who’s no technical genius.

In years past, I could set up a new computer in a day or two. But during this latest transition, I couldn’t move as quickly. I ran into technical problems I could get resolved only with professional help.… Read more

One of the many things I love about living in Wyoming is the weather. It’s constantly changing.

In the winter we can get surprisingly warm days, sometimes after weeks of sub-zero temperatures. Especially when the warm Chinook winds blow down out of the western mountains.

In the summer we can get surprisingly cold days. I remember more than one snowy July out here.

And, of course, the wild winds of Wyoming are a near-constant fact of life.

This past month or so, I’d been getting sales calls from a telemarketing company. I never answered the phone because I recognized their number from my caller ID service. But I’ll have to give them credit — they were incredibly persistent, calling me several times daily, day and night.

During the aftermath of the recent tsunami I saw several news reports about wild animals and native peoples moving to higher ground well before the storms hit. They survived the chaos unharmed.

The past two weeks I’ve had some fascinating personal experiences in manifesting. We live in exciting times!

Last week I was looking at a small hard pimple on my thumb. It had been there for years, and I decided I didn’t want it any more. Our thoughts often turn to our families during the holiday season. During the recent holidays, I got to thinking about my mother, Mary. She died in 1988.

In my family’s Roman Catholic religious tradition, we had “wakes” when someone died. A wake consisted of displaying the body in an open casket for several days before the funeral mass and burial. Friends and family would come to pay their respects to the dead one and her immediate family.

As this new year dawned just a few days ago, our thoughts and heartfelt compassion were directed to all those souls caught up in the earthquake and tsunami. Today (January 4), the Washington Post reported the death toll at 140,000 and climbing. Certainly a human tragedy of unimaginable proportions.

This week we’re continuing our theme from last week: your physical body and its well-being.

A few days ago, I had a long talk with my cousin. We’re exactly the same age, and we grew up next door to each other in rural western New York State. We’ve always had a close, loving sister-brother-type relationship.

She was telling me about a recent health crisis her daughter had — she’d been diagnosed with a deadly tumor.

About a week ago, on a beautiful early winter day, I was out jogging in the foothills south of my house. The morning air was clear, cold, and crisp, and the deep blue sky was sparkling with golden sunlight. The gentle hills around me, the rugged mountains in the distance, and the valley far below me were covered in a glistening white cloak of new-fallen snow. My kind of day–I love winter, and I was in heaven!

Over the years, Spirit has spoken often about gratitude, and the wonders it can create in our lives. In the USA this week we celebrate a day called Thanksgiving. A day of giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives. A day for expressing gratitude.
