The Secret to Living Your Life with Effortless Ease

posted in: Articles, Blog | 9

Many people are struggling with their lives, often daily. Are you one of them?

My spirit guides have often said our highest and best authority is our own inner guidance, our intuition. It will never lead us astray. We can trust it completely.

Most of us know that. Yet, when faced with challenges and choices, we are often lost and struggling, not knowing which way to turn.

That’s because there are so few influences in our modern world encouraging self-reliance, self-trust and, most importantly, self-love.Read more

The Power of Self-Love

posted in: Blog, channeling, life purpose | 2

I have no political convictions nor any interest in politics. However, one politician I’ve long admired is former US President Jimmy Carter.

President Carter once said, “…I’ve become convinced that the things that matter most are the things that you can’t see—the love you share with others, your inner purpose, your comfort with who you are. (emphasis added)

Spirit

The main problem with your modern world is love—that is, the lack of it. Especially the lack of self-love.

We realize most, if not all, of you were never really taught the truth about love.Read more

The Magic and Power of Self-Love

Self-love is not opposed to the love of other people. You cannot really love yourself and do yourself a favor without doing people a favor, and vice versa. ~ Karl Menninger, M.D.

As Dr. Menninger says above, when you give to yourself, you automatically give to others. That means when you show self-love, you are automatically loving others. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Yet it continually amazes me how few of us really believe and accept we should love ourselves.

A week or so ago, one of our readers wrote us a heart-wrenching letter.Read more

Who Is the Love of Your Life? by John Cali and Spirit

When I was about seven my mom and dad hired a piano teacher for me. Piano lessons were not on my seven-year-old mind’s to-do list. But after a while I actually started enjoying the lessons. In fact, I got pretty good at playing–or so I thought.Read more

Who Is That Person You See In the Mirror Every Day? by John Cali and Spirit

Every child is born a genius. ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Part of the genius of children is they know how to love themselves. And they never feel guilty about it.

Spirit

Loving yourself unconditionally is the single most important thing you can do in this lifetime.

If you cannot celebrate the miracle that is you, you will find little joy or reason in celebrating anything or anyone else. Your ability to love, appreciate, and celebrate yourself is the key to all you seek.… Read more

Do You Really Know Who You Are? by John Cali and Spirit

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ~ Buddha

There’s a worldwide epidemic devastating our planet today—self-hatred. Over the years in my work and personal life, I’ve seen the effects of this epidemic—it ain’t pretty.

Most of us, including me, have at one time or another been unable to look in the mirror and like what we see, let alone love it. That’s pretty sad.

Here’s Spirit.

11 Reasons You Don’t Love Yourself and What You Can Do About It by John Cali and Spirit

Constance_Talmadge_by_Lumiere,_1921

What do you see when you look at yourself in a mirror? What do you feel?

For many years I did not like the guy I saw in the mirror every morning. He was never good enough. Sound familiar?

I’m convinced virtually every problem we have is rooted in a lack of self-love. And we humans are ingenious at inventing reasons why we cannot love ourselves. You’re probably familiar with the long litany. For example:

  • I’m too fat.
  • I’m too skinny.

My spirit guides often talk about love, including self-love. They say animals are among our best teachers in learning to love, especially to love ourselves. All love starts with ourselves. In today’s world we seeing an epidemic of self-hatred—the source of virtually all this planet’s woes.

As Louise Hay says, “Self-approval and self-acceptance in the now are the keys to positive changes….When we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.”

How Do You Learn To Love Yourself? by John Cali

One of the biggest issues plaguing many of the folks I work with is self-love—or, rather, the lack of it. Often this is rooted in past experiences of this lifetime, or even of past lives.

Compounding the problem is the fact our modern world does not always encourage or support the practice of self-love. In fact, in many ways it discourages love of self.

I personally struggled with this issue for many years when I was younger. And I know many of you have also.Read more

Do You Struggle With Self-Love? by John Cali

Recently someone close to me was doing her best to convince me it was impossible for her to love herself as much as she loved others.

And even if she wanted to do that, it would be morally wrong. Her spiritual beliefs had convinced her of that. In plain language, it would be a sin for her to ever put herself before others.

Unfortunately, this lady is not alone in her struggles.

This week we’re revisiting an article we wrote a while back.Read more

What’s the Difference Between Self-Image and Self-Esteem? by John Cali

There was a Gallup poll a while back about the self-esteem of Americans. It concluded 2 out of 3 (almost 70 percent) suffered from low or no self-esteem. That’s a pretty sobering statistic.

What’s the difference between self-esteem and self-image?

Most of us at one time or another in our lives build up elaborate self-images. They’re usually based on externals—how physically attractive we are, how much money we have, how many friends we have, how much worldly power we command, how big our houses are, etc.Read more

Learning To Love Yourself by John Cali

Do you love yourself unconditionally? If you’re like most of us, the answer is almost certainly “No.” Are you looking for that “one and only” romantic relationship? Many folks are.

Spirit has said, many times, if we don’t fall head-over-heels in love with ourselves first we can never love others well.

This is a funny video with a serious message. I think you’ll enjoy it. (Beware, however, especially if you’re sensitive – the video has some rough language.)

8 Signs Your Ego Is Controlling You: Followup by John Cali

As promised, we’re doing a followup to our March 23 blog post, 8 Signs Your Ego Is Controlling You.

You may have noticed a common thread running through those 8 signs Spirit gave us in that post. To be honest, I didn’t notice it until I went back and re-read the post. That common thread is the lack of self-love.

So this week Spirit has given us some useful tips on learning to love ourselves more. Here they are:

  • Eliminate all self-criticism and self-judgement.

Botox Revisited by John Cali

A while back we wrote an article, Botox and Beauty. In that article we talked about a mother who was regularly giving her eight-year-old daughter Botox injections.

Just today I came across the story of a father giving his 18-year-old daughter breast implants. The father happens to be a plastic surgeon. He’s also done plastic surgery on two older daughters, in their early 20s, and other family members.

Quite apart from the ethics of a doctor operating on his own family, I was surprised (though I should not have been) at what the 18-year-old said.… Read more

Self-Love by John Cali

A Gallup poll a while back reported 2 out of 3 Americans suffer from low self-esteem and, presumably, a lack of self-love. That’s nearly 70 percent of the USA’s population!

The poll didn’t talk about other countries, but I’d guess it’s about the same as in the United States.

There’s been a steady, years-long stream of folks suffering from a lack of self-love and self-esteem coming to us for private sessions with Spirit. There have also been some of my close family and friends who’ve talked with me about their lack of self-love and self-esteem.… Read more
