The Land of No-Time by John Cali and Spirit

To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is, you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived.

Many years ago I had an unforgettable experience of being completely beyond time.

I’d left my house for a destination 10 miles away. I happened to check my car’s clock at the moment I started out. I was driving at the speed limit.

When I got where I was going, I checked the car clock again.Read more

When Things Go Wrong, Let the Universe Take Over by John Cali and Spirit

Appearances often are deceiving. ~ Aesop

This past week I had an early-morning appointment. When I went out to my car, it was completely dead—no battery power at all. The battery was brand-new. At first, I started moaning, “Why me?” But I quickly caught myself and stopped that line of thinking dead in its tracks.

Why not me? I knew there was a good reason for this unpleasant surprise. I knew it was something other than what it appeared to be.Read more

Each mental act opens up a new dimension of actuality. In a manner of speaking, your slightest thought gives birth to worlds. Seth, channeled by Jane Roberts

The journey by train is long. Looking outside, I see a green landscape, animals and water. I also see people, minding their own business.

In the compartment diagonally across from me there is a young lady. I know for sure that I have never seen her before. But what is never?Read more

Today’s and our next few posts will be necessarily short, as I’ll be traveling this week and next.

By now we’ve all heard about the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 which crashed in Ukraine last week. The Boeing 777 aircraft, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lampur, carried 298 people. All died.

One bright spot in this human tragedy concerns a British family who said someone was “watching over them.”Read more

Recapturing Simplicity by John Cali and Spirit

To be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts, not even to found a school, but so to love wisdom as to live according to its dictates, a life of simplicity, independence, magnanimity, and trust. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Do You Know Any Emotional Vampires? by John Cali and Spirit

A vampire is “a person who habitually preys upon others, (for example)…debt collectors…who made a living from the misery of others.” ~ Mirriam-Webster Dictionary

I have a good friend who’s always been a drain on my energy—until recently. She was a true emotional vampire.

Sally (not her real name) was not a good listener. It was obvious when I was talking to her she was not hearing me. She was too busy thinking of what she wanted to say next, and would often interrupt me.Read more

Did You Know Yoga Is Evil and Endangers Your Soul? by John Cali and Spirit

If men were born free, they would, so long as they remained free, form no conception of good and evil. ~ Baruch Spinoza

I read an article yesterday which took me totally by surprise. An Irish Catholic priest was cautioning his parishioners against yoga because, he said, it endangers their souls. Same goes for tai chi or Reiki, according to the reverend. These activities he deemed “unsavoury.”

I had to read the article a couple times before it sunk in.Read more

This week’s post, for a couple personal reasons, is short.

Have you ever wondered if you were doing something right, perhaps in a moment of self-doubt? Maybe you’re afraid to do anything for fear of making mistakes.

And so you do nothing. But isn’t that also is a mistake?

My spirit guides often say none of us has ever made a mistake.Read more

Being at One with All That Is by John Cali and Spirit

Albert_Bierstadt_-_California_RedwoodsCalifornia Redwoods by Albert Bierstadt

All my life I’ve loved being out in nature—whether at the ocean, in the mountains, or just wandering through a beautiful flower garden. One of my favorite places to wander is the redwood forests of northern California.

Those majestic trees have an incredible energy. I can get lost in that energy just sitting at their roots.Read more

This time I would like to do a guided meditation together with you. So, if you want to go along with me this way, I ask that you find a familiar place, close your eyes and sit down comfortably. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Disconnect the ambient sounds and go along with me back to a time, a number of centuries ago, in a place that is today the United States of America.Read more

One night about 35 years ago I was leaving my office in Arlington, Virginia. As I approached my car in the parking lot it was getting dark and no one else was around. Then I realized I’d locked my keys in the car that morning.

I searched the entire parking lot, hoping to find something I could use to pry open the car door lock.Read more

Chasing Happiness by John Cali and Spirit

The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you’ll never find it. ~ C. P. Snow

Spielendes_KätzchenHappy Cat, by Loliloli

Happiness is an elusive pipe dream for so many. But that is completely the opposite of our natural state—which is happiness, peace, love, joy in every aspect of our earthly lives.

We were born happy. Did you ever see a depressed or unhappy baby or young child? These young ones still remember where they came from and who they are.Read more

11 Easy Ways You Can Learn To Love Your Body by John Cali and Spirit

I asked Spirit that question, and here’s what they told me.

One of the few certainties in life is that for all of us the day will come that we are going to leave earth. That very day we will have lived our life. But maybe you have tried to denote every major incident, to do something with it, and then went on with the feeling you have really learned something.Read more

How Do You Respond To Constant Complainers? by John Cali and Spirit

Most of us know at least one someone who is constantly complaining. Maybe that someone is you. I was like that when I was younger. And I still catch myself at it now and then. But the difference now is I almost immediately see what I’m doing—and stop it.

This past week I’ve been thinking a lot about this subject.Read more

Eight years ago I had a choice to make: “Are you coming home or do you want to finish your turn?” The temptation to let go was great. The love spoken from these words was so intense that I was truly prepared to leave my earthly body, with all its faults and illnesses, and to reunite with the four women who passed away earlier and who I know will be there to welcome me: my grandmother, my mom, my daughter and my spirit guide.Read more

Soul and Salvation by Hans Brockhuis

An old Dutch saying wants us to believe that if you would sell your soul and salvation, you absolutely would want to sacrifice all of who and what you are. Perhaps to live quietly as a hermit, meditating about what once was, what is and what will be. But that’s not what I want to say with these words.

I want to speak with soul and salvation about Love. Because is it not true that love forms a roof for your soul and salvation?… Read more
