Dogs Are Our Link To Paradise by John Cali and Spirit

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring—it was peace. ~ Milan Kundera

Our good friend of many years, Dan Beck, sent us the following letter a few days ago. He’s given me permission to publish it here.

Hi John,

Just had a sudden death of one of our pets.Read more

Eight years ago I had a choice to make: “Are you coming home or do you want to finish your turn?” The temptation to let go was great. The love spoken from these words was so intense that I was truly prepared to leave my earthly body, with all its faults and illnesses, and to reunite with the four women who passed away earlier and who I know will be there to welcome me: my grandmother, my mom, my daughter and my spirit guide.Read more

The Healing Power of Animals: Sequel by John Cali and Spirit

“The only creatures that are evolved enough to convey pure love are dogs and infants.” ~ Johnny Depp

In our last post, “The Healing Power of Animals,” we talked about animals helping humans to heal.

An article I came across yesterday ago talks about the way a boxer named Romeo helped people heal while he was in the final stages of a fatal illness. His mistress, Riina Cooke, did her best to make his final days as easy and as much fun as possible.Read more

How Long Do You Want To Live and How Do You Want To Die? by John Cali and Spirit

I recently read an article about the death of a 21-month-old baby girl in Texas. She’d fallen into her family’s swimming pool, was revived and rushed to the hospital.

The doctors, after many weeks of various medical procedures, decided she could not survive. She’d gone without oxygen too long, and her organs had shut down. Yet she was still alive.

Her parents begged the “authorities” to end her suffering. They refused. The family decided to remove her feeding tube because, in Texas, that was their only legal alternative.… Read more

Spirit Is Speaking To You Right Now by John Cali

One of the most common questions folks ask my spirit guides and me is “How can I communicate with my dead loved ones?”

That’s a question most of us ask one time or another. I sure have!

As I see it, the problem is not that physical death cuts the lines of communication between our loved ones and us. Just the opposite, in fact. Our family in spirit are always right here with us now, in a much more powerful and intimate way than when they were in a physical body.Read more

How Do You Face Your Own Mortality? by John Cali

DovetonSturdeeGravestoneFrimley

That’s a tough question for many of us.

Two weeks ago a member of our family died. Two days ago another one died.

The deaths got me to thinking about, well, life and death. None of us are going to get out of this life alive. At least not physically.

How do we face our own mortality? I’ve given lots of thought to that question the past two weeks.

Once again, I’m away from home for a while. So this newsletter will be brief.Read more

The Fear of Death: Sequel by John Cali

We had some great responses to our last newsletter article, The Fear of Death.

One comment Spirit made in that article is a tough one for many folks to accept. Here’s what they said:

Death does not exist. Let go of the fear of death, and then you will soar.”

At least several people were upset by what Spirit and I said in that article. Here are one person’s comments (unedited):

Just simply let go. Ah geez is that all I have to do?Read more

The Fear of Death by John Cali

Last week one of our family died at a relatively young age. She’d been suffering from a serious illness since she was in her 40s.

I know, as my spirit guides often say, we all die at the time and in the manner we choose. Yet when someone close dies, it’s still an adjustment for us—often a difficult one.

Adding to the difficulty is the almost universal fear of death.

Here are a few thoughts from Spirit.Read more

You Never Lose Those You Love by John Cali

I’ve taken that title from words my spirit guides have been using for years—usually when they’re talking to someone about the death of a loved one.

Here are some of their thoughts.

Spirit

  • Death is not the end of you. It is only a new beginning.
  • Death is not the end of love. It is the beginning of renewed love.
  • Death is not serious. Life is not serious.
  • Life, whether you are “dead” or “alive,” is supposed to be fun.
  • Dying is the easiest thing you will ever do, as you’ve had lots of practice through countless lifetimes.

What Is the Purpose of Animal Suffering and Death? by John Cali

We received quite a few comments on two of our recent articles, The Power of Animals and The Power of Animals, Part 2.

Pat, one of our readers, left the following comments and questions. With her permission I’m including them here:

John – first of all I wanted to say I just watched and enjoyed your participation in the May 2012 YouTube version of the documentary Spirit Channelers in America. The information is truly enlightening and sychronistic with my personal growth right now.Read more

Where Do Dead People Go? Part 2 by John Cali

Last week we talked about life after death, and we had a pretty good response to it. We’re going to talk about it a bit more this week. Actually, we’re going to talk about life before death, a subject we’ve rarely discussed.

Over the years I’ve been honored to be at the “death beds” of some of my close family, though not recently. Although I wasn’t uncomfortable with it, I did not always know what to say to them, or to the other family members who don’t see death in the same positive way I do.Read more

Where Do Dead People Go? by John Cali

One of our readers asked us what life after death is like. Death is a subject many of us avoid if at all possible. Why do you suppose that is? Probably because we fear it more than anything. And why do you suppose that is?

My personal opinion is we fear death because we often consider it the end of us. Even many who say they believe in the afterlife are scared of death. I think that’s because we do not know what death really is.Read more

Is Suicide Ever Justified? by John Cali

In our last blog post, Is The World Driving You Crazy?, we talked about a family murder-suicide. I know this is a tough subject for many folks.

Objections to suicide, including assisted suicide, range across the spectrum—religious, legal, spiritual, practical, and so on. It’s a contentious subject with widely varying and conflicting opinions.

Years ago, in a message I found very comforting, Spirit spoke of suicide. Read it here.

Is There An Afterlife? by John Cali

One of our readers recently sent us a question about the afterlife. Here’s her letter (which I’ve partially edited to omit unrelated information):

“Lately I’ve been wondering if there really is an afterlife, a creator….My brother died about a month ago, and my thoughts have turned to what happens when you die. I have so much doubt right now. Maybe we are just an accident of the universe.”

 Here’s Spirit’s reply:

There are no accidents. There are no coincidences. We—all of us in spirit and all of you in physical—are eternal.Read more

Is Violence Ever Justified? by John Cali

Interesting question, and one that has been asked forever it seems.

One of my favorite spirit guides is Seth, channelled by Jane Roberts. Seth once said this: “There is never any justification for violence. There is no justification for hatred. There is no justification for murder.”

And he said this:

“No one dies who has not made the decision to do so. Your existence before and after death is as normal as your present life.”

Most of our world today condemns violence, hatred, and killing.… Read more

The End of Life by John Cali

Last weekend around the dinner table, I was talking to some of my family about death. Not a subject most people want to sit around casually discussing at dinner. But death comes to us all, and we all think about it, at least now and then. Not necessarily in a somber, macabre way, but in simply acknowledging death is part of life.

Many years ago, I read the book Final Exit by Derek Humphry. As the book’s subtitle says, it’s about “the practicalities of self-deliverance and assisted suicide for the dying.”… Read more

Animal Angels by John Cali

Animal Angels

As one of our readers pointed out in a recent blog post, we often talk about animals in our articles and posts. One of the reasons is I love all animals, as do my spirit guides.

I’m away from home until next week. So we’re repeating one of our animal articles from half a dozen years ago. It’s a touching story that happened to me personally. It demonstrates we never lose those we love, even beyond the veil of death.… Read more

Do Animals Grieve? by John Cali

Angel of Grief

One of our readers recently asked if animals grieve at the death of their companions. Here’s her letter, followed by my reply.

Dear John,

You regularly write blogs which are about animals, especially pets. Just a few days ago I read one about the attitude of animals towards death. This made me wonder about something related to that.

How do animals feel about another animal dying?

My daughter has had two small rats as pets for a couple of years.… Read more

What Did She Die From? by John Cali

The other day I was telling an old friend about the recent death of another friend we’d known since childhood. The first question my friend asked me was “What did she die from?”

Death has fascinated me ever since I was a little boy. Not in any morbid way, but just from a deep curiosity about what awaits us beyond the veil. As I worked more and more with my spirit guides over the years, I became more interested in not only what lies beyond the veil, but also what awaits us just before we leave our physical bodies.… Read more

Reader Question: What Is It Like After We Die? by John Cali

Reader’s Question:

I often watch a television show in which they interview people who have died due to various circumstances, have seen the other side in their Spirit form, only to be brought back to life.

The majority of those people who have seen the other side have a very similar story/experience about being in pure bliss, being there in non-physical form, etc. However, once in a while, there are those people who see something they perceive to be a glimpse of “hell” or someplace that elicits feelings of fear.… Read more

The Far Side of The Rainbow Bridge by John Cali & Barbara Clark

We recently wrote an article, Farewell to Rosie, about the death of Barbara Clark’s dog, Rosie on May 2. After she died Barbara and I were talking on the phone that same day. Rosie suddenly appeared to me.

She gave me a short, clear message she wanted me to convey to Barbara. She said “I love you, Mom. Thank you for everything.”

For about a week after she died Rosie continued giving me short messages for Barbara, usually when Barbara and I were talking on the phone.… Read more

Farewell to Rosie by John Cali

Yesterday my dear friend, Barbara Clark, bid farewell to her beloved Rosie. Rosie, a rough collie, had been with Barbara over 14 years, almost since she was a newborn puppy.

I know many of you reading this care deeply for your own dogs, and for all animals. My spirit guides say we never lose those we love, human or animal. But still, we’re sad because we miss the warmth of their physical presence and the unconditional love shining brightly in their eyes.… Read more

Does Life Scare You to Death? by John Cali

Fear is one of the biggest challenges we humans deal with every day of our lives. But is there really anything to be afraid of — anything at all?

Does life scare you to death? If it does, a change in perspective is in order.

Neale Donald Walsch talks about the emotion of fear in this delightful video.

Since I’m travelling away from home this week, we’re resurrecting an old article we published on fear. Appropriately, it’s titled “Fear.”… Read more

Fear by John Cali

(This article was originally published October 21, 2008.)

This past week we’ve had a broad and intense discussion of fear at one of our new discussion forums. A timely subject, given the state of our world today.

I’m sure most of us know one of the greatest fears people have is fear of death. We talked at length about this particular fear in the movie Tuning In. Another closely related fear is that of growing old.

A couple days ago, I came across an interesting article on aging and dying.… Read more

Wholeness by John Cali

posted in: Blog, channeling | 14

We’ve talked about this subject many times before, but it keeps coming up in my conversations with folks. The other day a friend referred to his wife as his “better half.” It’s been a long time since I’ve heard that expression, and I do not like it any better now than I did long ago.

Are we really incomplete, only half a person, without another, especially a romantic partner? I know many folks, including me, who’ve lived happily alone for years.… Read more
