Do You Think Homosexuality Is Unnatural—or Wrong? by John Cali

Two gay men

Even in this era of dramatic transformation on our planet and in our human consciousness, there are still places where we hang on tightly to outdated ideas that just don’t work anymore. Or perhaps never did.

One of those is certainly the whole area of human sexuality, especially homosexuality.

I personally find it encouraging that we are at least talking more openly than ever before about these issues, especially homosexuality.

Even in conservative places like Wyoming, where I live, there is more open discussion—more willingness to see life from other people’s perspectives.… Read more

Always Follow Your Heart by John Cali

We are often urged to follow our hearts. But how many of us do it consistently?

In my own personal experience, and in talking with others about their experiences, I find two significant blocks to following our hearts.

First, we’re too easily swayed by the opinions of others.

Second, we do not trust ourselves and our own inner guidance.

Here are some thoughts from Spirit.

Spirit

Many of you were taught, as little children, not to follow your hearts.… Read more

Are You Shackled To The Past Without Even Knowing It? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, life purpose, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 12

A couple nights ago I had one of the most vivid dreams I can ever remember.

The dream included only two people—a friend from this lifetime and me. The setting seemed to be around the mid-1800s in a house I know very well in this lifetime. We were having a disagreement about our relationship, and the dream ended without us settling our differences—even though we both said we loved the other.

When I woke up I knew exactly the message the dream was giving me.… Read more

How Do You Learn To Love Yourself? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 8

One of the biggest issues plaguing many of the folks I work with is self-love—or, rather, the lack of it. Often this is rooted in past experiences of this lifetime, or even of past lives.

Compounding the problem is the fact our modern world does not always encourage or support the practice of self-love. In fact, in many ways it discourages love of self.

I personally struggled with this issue for many years when I was younger. And I know many of you have also.… Read more

All Differences Are Illusion, Only Oneness Is Real by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 20

In David Thomas’ film, Tuning In, one of the underlying themes was the oneness of all creation. My spirit guides often say God is all that is. That includes all humans, all animals, all plants, the land, the sea—all life, animate and inanimate, on earth and beyond. There is nothing in all of creation that is not God.

If we accept God is in all that exists—is all that exists, then (obviously) we as human beings are all God.… Read more

Are We Making War or Making Peace? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 10

I realize that image is a strange one for a spiritual newsletter. The gun, a replica of an 1873 Colt Firearms revolver, was called The Peacemaker. Ironic name for something intended to kill and destroy.

We’re all aware of the devastating conflicts going on right now in the Middle East, plus other places around the globe. James Twyman, aptly called the Peace Troubadour, was on a peace mission this past week to Syria and Egypt.

James gathered together tens of thousands of people around the world to send their healing prayers of peace to all those individuals and countries being ravaged by war.… Read more

Can You Heal Your Body Without Doctors? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, manifesting, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 13

Witch Doctor Healing by Malcolm Lidbury

A recent article in The Independent, a British news site, reported Pentecostal church pastors in Britain were telling their church members with the AIDS virus to rely on God for healing—and to ignore medical doctors.

At first I thought the pastors were being foolhardy and irresponsible. But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

As one of the pastors in the article said, “…we believe that the first healing comes from inside, it’s a spiritual healing.… Read more

Are People Unkind to You Because of Your Spiritual Path? by John Cali

If you answered “Yes” to that question, you’re not alone.

Most of my Roman Catholic family have disapproved of my spiritual path ever since I started channelling years ago. I have a great relationship with many of them. But even the ones I’m closest to have told me they pray for me so I won’t go to hell. That amuses me, and I just tell them hell doesn’t exist.

When David Thomas filmed the movie Tuning In with 5 other channels and me, my family, except for my brother, could not have cared less.… Read more

The Rabbit by the Side of the Road by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 10

We’ve talked about animals in several recent posts, and we’re doing it again today. After this we’ll move on to other subjects.

A couple days ago while I was walking home after my early-morning run, I spotted a cute little rabbit by the side of the road. He didn’t run from me, as rabbits usually do. So when I got up close to him I could see his hind legs were mangled, probably from being hit by a car.… Read more

Messages from the Dragonfly by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 19

Since I’m once again away from home this week, our weekly newsletter article is short.

A couple nights ago I noticed a beautiful long-legged brown fly on one of the kitchen window sills. I moved to get a closer look, and realized he had only one wing. He wasn’t afraid of me, and just stood there. He looked like a miniature dragonfly—although dragonflies have four wings, and this little creature had only one.

Even with only one wing he obviously could still fly or he could not have been sitting on the window sill six feet off the ground.… Read more

Farewell To Caesar by John Cali

In our last blog post, He Was Just a Dog, I talked about taking care of my brother’s and sister-in-law’s elderly cat Caesar while they were travelling last week. Caesar died two days ago.

He was not my cat, but we all considered him part of our family for nearly 20 years. That may sound strange to folks who do not resonate with pets. But those who do will understand.

Caesar’s death was not unexpected, as he’d lived so long and was ill the past few years.… Read more

Do You Have Confused Feelings About Animals? by John Cali

As I looked at our website statistics this past weekend, I was a bit surprised to see among our most popular articles and posts are those about animals. In our latest blog post, He Was Just a Dog, we talked about the spiritual aspects of animals, domestic and wild.

Today we’re continuing that subject. This will be a shorter article than normal, as I’m away from home again (unexpectedly) for the next couple weeks.

Here are some of my spirit guides’ thoughts about our sometimes-confused feelings toward animals—especially when it comes to deciding to be a meat-eater or a vegetarian.… Read more

He Was Just a Dog by John Cali

This week I’ve been “babysitting” my brother’s and sister-in-law’s elderly, ailing cat Caesar while they’re travelling. I had to take Caesar to his veterinarian for a checkup a couple days ago. While in the waiting room I spied a book called Animals Are Soul Too! As I scanned through the book I realized it was filled with stories of animals acting more like humans than, well, animals.

When the vet’s assistant carried Caesar back into the waiting room she looked sad.… Read more

Pope Francis

Our title today is taken from an article recently appearing in The Independent, an online British newspaper.

It seems Pope Francis has promised shorter sentences in purgatory for those Roman Catholics who commit minor sins (“venial” sins, as the church calls them). The shorter sentences are known as “indulgences.”

According to Catholic teaching, if people die without confessing their sins to a priest, they will go to either purgatory (for minor or “venial” sins) or hell (for major or “mortal” sins).… Read more

Do You Want To Be Healthy, Happy and Slim? by Barbara Clark

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, law of attraction, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 12

Where is your focus? Are your negative beliefs being activated? What is your vibration around being healthy, happy and slim?

Try this simple exercise, say aloud “I am healthy, happy and slim”. Pay close attention to how you feel when you say the words. How true do they feel? Do you feel a “stuckness”, resistance, tightness?

Now try, “Why am I so healthy, happy and slim?”. How does that feel? Is there a difference?

This exercise will help you feel where your vibration is in relation to health, happiness and having a slender body.… Read more

How Do You Feel When Someone Criticizes You? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, manifesting, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality, Uncategorized | 29

I had a chance—two chances, in fact—to answer that question recently. The answer in both cases was “Not very good.”

I generally respond to criticism kindly, even if the critic is not being kind. Within this past month two people have harshly criticized my spiritual work, and me personally.

The first I had never met and did not know. In fact, she obviously knew nothing about my work. Except one thing—she didn’t like it.

The other was a formerly close friend who’d enthusiastically supported my work for many years.… Read more

Do You Know How Wise and Powerful You Are? by John Cali

The Hand of God

In a recent private reading one of our clients said something that really struck me—she said she felt she was speaking to herself through my spirit guides.

I had to think about her words only a moment to realize what a profound insight she had. It’s one of the clearest ways I’ve ever heard of expressing what channeling is all about. When we talk to the spirit guides (either directly or through a channel) we access that part of ourselves that is, literally, God.… Read more

Reliving the Battle of Gettysburg by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, mind body soul, relationships | 20

Battle of Gettysburg, Currier and Ives

This past week—on July 1, 2, and 3—the United States commemorated the 150^th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, fought during the American Civil War. The war pitted the South’s Confederate Army against the North’s Union Army. According to many historians it was the pivotal point of the war, which ended with the defeat of the Confederate Army nearly two years later.

As happens every year, there are Civil War battle reenactments, including the one at Gettysburg this past week.… Read more

Do You Dread Growing Older? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, life purpose, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 14

I never thought much about growing older—that is, until it started happening to me.

But you know what? This is the best time of my life. I’m having more fun, am happy and healthy, and doing only what I love. I’ve learned every moment is precious.

The best part is I’ve found that inner peace and joy that seemed to elude me in my younger years.

I would say—and this is a totally unscientific conclusion, based only on my personal observations—most folks are not having fun as they grow older.… Read more

What Is Your Soul? by John Cali

One of our readers wrote us a couple days ago about last week’s newsletter article, How Do We Reconcile Reincarnation and Simultaneous Time?
Here’s what she wrote, which I’ve slightly edited:

I’ve often pondered on this concept. How does the non-linear time concept fit in with physical structures currently on Earth, i.e. the pyramids which were obviously created at a past time and endure now?

Perhaps (you could do) a blog on the soul—what it is, what it looks like, how big it is, what it does, what its relationship is to the incarnated personality and its relationship to Source energy.… Read more

Spirit Talks About Romantic Love by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, inspiration, life purpose, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 20

Today, June 20, my beloved partner, Barbara Clark, and I are celebrating our anniversary. As a gift to ourselves, and hopefully to others also, Barbara had a conversation with my spirit guides about romantic love.

Since the very word, “romance,” is sometimes misunderstood and misused, Barbara and I prefer the term, “spiritual partnership.” We believe it’s a more accurate description of the relationships many of us on a spiritual path have today.

Relationships, romantic or not, are always opportunities to grow and evolve—and to gain greater understanding of who we really are and our connection to Spirit.… Read more

How Do We Reconcile Reincarnation and Simultaneous Time? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, life purpose, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 21

Many spiritual teachers and spirit guides, including my own guides, talk about reincarnation—one lifetime after another, often spanning many centuries. They also talk about simultaneous time—where past, present, and future all exist in the present moment.

How do we reconcile these two seemingly contradictory concepts?

Spirit

Linear time does not exist in the realms of spirit—there is only eternal time.

Being fully in each moment will make you, as you say, “lose track of time.” Time as you know it literally expands (or contracts).… Read more

Did Your Family Give You Bad Genes? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 10

When I was growing up there was a belief among most of my family that certain illnesses were genetic. I bought into that belief for many years—until I realized it simply wasn’t true.

Our large Italian family had many folks with heart problems. Most of them, including my father, eventually died from heart disorders. Was that genetic? I don’t think so.

I had a dear cousin who was convinced he would die from a heart attack at the age of 55—the same age his father had died of a heart attack.… Read more

Nurture Yourself with a Spiritual Retreat by John Cali

Church in Sicily

This past weekend, I was unexpectedly without internet access or my computer. So I had all this time on my hands with no work to do.

Every now and then my spirit guides urge me to take some time off from work to nurture myself—sort of a “spiritual retreat.” In other words, they say, turn off my computer and phone, don’t answer the doorbell, etc. Preferably get out of town and away from my usual work routine.

Last weekend I didn’t know what to do with myself.… Read more

Why Do We Need Forgiveness? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 18

Michelangelo’s The Last Judgement (Sistine Chapel)

When I was growing up in the Catholic Church, we were constantly reminded we needed forgiveness for all our sins, great and small. There was no way we were going to make it to heaven unless we constantly begged God to forgive us.

There was even a part of the Sunday Mass service where we were required to say “Lord, I am not worthy to receive you. Only say the word and I shall be healed.”… Read more
