Sure-Fire Keys To Happiness by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 12

There are so many modern-world influences working against happiness. And yet, as divine beings in human form, happiness is our natural state.

I’m not saying we must be deliriously happy in every moment of our lives. But surely we can be a lot happier than most of us are. So why aren’t we?

Here are some of my spirit guides’ suggestions for finding and keeping more happiness in our lives:

Embrace uncertainty. You might as well, since you cannot escape it.

The Present Moment Is Your Key to Happiness by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 12

We humans waste so much of our lives squandering our precious present moments with fear, doubt, and worry.

Here are two of my favorite quotations:

“I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.” ~ Legendary American writer, Mark Twain

“The living moment is everything.” ~ English writer and poet D.H. Lawrence

It took me many years before I realized the benefits of living in the moment, and a few more years learning how to do it.… Read more

Do You Know How To Heal Yourself? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 8

As you can probably guess, healing is a subject that comes up often in my and my spirit guides’ conversations with folks.

I almost never get sick, but the past week or so I’ve had what I guess was a severe cold. I was pretty miserable most of that time, and I’m still recovering.

The experience got me to thinking about the many times my spirit guides have talked about healing—and how our bodies know how to heal themselves (if we stay out of their way).… Read more

Do You Have a Bad Back? By Barbara Clark

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 32

Introduction By John Cali

How many people do you know with “bad” backs? If you’re like me, probably plenty. In fact, when I was younger I used to have nagging, persistent back pain.

In today’s post, Barbara Clark talks about her healing work—specifically, her experience in helping folks with back pain.

Here’s Barbara:

After my article, Are You Burying Your Head in the Sand?, was published many people asked how they could get themselves out of the way and allow their bodies to heal.… Read more

Present-Moment Awareness: How To Get It and Why You Need It by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 10

Being fully present in each moment of your lives is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, and others. Your presence is truly a gift.

We realize your modern world can be a very distracting place. All the more reason to practice presence — full presence in every moment of your waking awareness. Obviously you are physically present in all your waking and sleeping moments. But how often is your mind, your focus off somewhere else?

All you really have is the present moment.… Read more

Time and Forgetfulness by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 10

Often, when I’m channeling my spirit guides, I lose all sense of time.

One of the people we gave a reading to recently said something similar. She asked one of my spirit guides why she forgets their conversations when she and he talk.

Here’s their conversation (with her permission):

Questioner:

Why do I forget when we talk? I don’t forget when I talk to physical human beings. Why do I almost instantly forget what you’ve told me?

Spirit guide:

It’s very common and the reason is that we are speaking to you from a place where linear time does not exist.… Read more

Is Oneness Possible? By John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 21

In one of our last posts, The Web of Life and Our Global Community, we talked about the oneness of humanity. We’re taking that idea a step farther today.

In the Tuning In movie my spirit guides said God is all that is—literally everything that exists, human and non-human, is God. That, obviously, includes plants, animals, oceans, mountains, etc.

As we said in the above article, “We’re gaining a greater awareness of what our spiritual teachers and guides have been telling us forever—we are all connected.… Read more

The Web of Life and Our Global Community by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, mind body soul, relationships, spirituality | 6

We hear much today about our worldwide global community. With all the wonders our modern communication technologies have brought us, every part of our planet is only a heartbeat away from every other part.

We’re gaining a greater awareness of what our spiritual teachers and guides have been telling us forever—we are all connected. We are one, in every way.

This new year has started out with a big surge in my workload. So today we’re revisiting an article we wrote a while back, A Sense of Community.… Read more

Why Not Be Happy For No Reason? By John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help | 14

Whenever my spirit guides or I tell folks our natural state is to be happy, we usually get some strange responses—and even some angry arguments.

Some of the usual arguments go like this:

How can I be happy in a world that’s falling apart?

How can I be happy when my loved ones are not happy?

How can I be happy when I have no money?

How can happiness be our natural state? That doesn’t make sense.

And so on and on.… Read more

Are You Letting Your Past Define Who You Are Now? By John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 16

How often do you define yourself by your past—by who you were10 years ago or 10 lifetimes ago?

When I was younger I had no identity except for how I remembered myself in the past. And yet none of us are the same now as we were 10 years ago, 10 lifetimes ago—or even 10 minutes ago.

Here are some of Spirit’s thoughts:

You can live your lives only one moment at a time.

You drain all the pleasure and joy from your present moments by polluting them with guilt from past deeds done and worry about future deeds undone.

Another New Beginning By John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 12

Here we are at the beginning of another new year. What’s so special about New Year’s Day? Well, probably not much.

My spirit guides, as many of you know, don’t generally predict the future. But they did say recently 2013 would be a much easier year for those on a conscious path of spiritual growth.

Here is exactly what they said (to my partner Barbara):
“For those of you who have been working diligently on yourselves, 2013 will be a year of peace and joy.”… Read more

How Can We Be Grateful In A World Filled With Pain? By John Cali and Spirit

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, mind body soul | 30

Gratitude is our most direct line to God and the angels. If we take the time, no matter how crazy and troubled we feel, we can find something to be thankful for. ~ Terry Lynn Taylor

Be Grateful

I know there’s much in our world today that makes us wonder if we humans are lost forever. We wrote about the Newtown school shootings in a recent post, Is Peace on Earth an Impossible Dream? Following shortly after the Newtown tragedy was another senseless shooting in my home area of New York State.… Read more

Merry Christmas! Bah, Humbug! By John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, spirituality | 31

One of my all-time favorite movies is “A Christmas Carol,” based on Charles Dickens’ novel of the same name.

As you probably recall, in the book and movie Scrooge showed his disgust for Christmas with the words “Bah, humbug!” He believed Christmas was just an excuse to spend money you didn’t have and to waste precious time in revelry and fun. Certainly a cynical view of what is for many is a joyful celebration, and a time for putting aside our differences and being just a bit kinder to our fellow humans—and to all creatures.… Read more

We received a variety of insightful comments in response to our newsletter article earlier this week, Is Peace on Earth an Impossible Dream?

So, as a followup, I’d like to share with you a few additional thoughts. (This post is longer than our usual short ones, which I know you and I prefer. But I think the subject merits it today.)

First, here’s a brief message I received from my spirit guides:

“There will never be the peace on earth many of you envision.… Read more

Is Peace on Earth An Impossible Dream? John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, healing, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, spirituality | 27

Our thoughts turn to peace on earth every year at this holiday season. That’s particularly appropriate this year, as we’re preoccupied not only with conflicts around the world, but also with the all-too-frequent and vicious violence in the United States.

As you all know, 27 adults and children died in a bloodbath at a school in Connecticut last week. Then the gunman killed himself, bringing the death toll to 28.

Here are a few of Spirit’s thoughts about all this:

You have somehow been convinced there is not enough room for all of you on your planet.

Do You Have a Hard Time Loving Yourself? John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, Uncategorized | 5

As we move deeper into the holiday season, I see more and more folks getting stressed and overwhelmed. That’s not what Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, etc. are all about. They’re about celebrating the season, one another, and ourselves.

Yet many folks put themselves at the end of their long holiday lists. They don’t take time to slow down and enjoy the season. In short, they have a hard time loving themselves in their frantic rush to get everything done.

Does that sound like you?… Read more

Are You Giving Away Your Power? John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 14

I recently ran into a couple of old, dear friends, one in the grocery store and the other at my barber shop. Although I have no political preferences or convictions, my two friends certainly do—particularly regarding the United States’ recent presidential election.

It was obvious neither of them supported President Barack Obama.

My first friend said the US was going to hell in a handbasket, now that President Obama had been reelected. He said, in all seriousness, he didn’t know if he wanted to go on living.… Read more

Fun At Frank’s Barber Shop by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, life purpose, mind body soul, spirituality | 16

Yesterday morning I went to Frank’s Barber Shop for a haircut. We’ve talked about Frank before.

Frank and I were having our usual, friendly chat. He was joking around and laughing, talking about the funny things he often observed about people and the world. I told him he was entertaining, and fun to be around because he was always laughing and joyful.

He paused in mid-stride and became thoughtful for a moment. Then he said, “Well, I’ve been laughing all my life.”… Read more

Are You Challenged By Change? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 11

When I was younger I dreaded change of any kind, big or small. I felt threatened by it, as if my world was about to come crashing down around me. I deal with change much more easily now. In fact, I welcome it.

Many years ago I had a secretary who, when confronted with change, would be almost literally paralyzed with fear. She just couldn’t function. She was an extreme case, but not all that unusual among some folks I know.… Read more

Is Fear of Food Ruling Your Life? John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life purpose, mind body soul, positive thinking, self-help, spirituality | 6

While the mainstream news media mostly focus on “bad” news, occasionally they will come out with something positive. The other day I read an article talking about all the scientific studies done over the years on the link between food and cancer.

Since this is the holiday season, when food plays a larger-than-normal role in our lives, I thought this would be a good subject for today.

It seems almost every type of food we put into our bodies every day has, at one time or another, been labeled a cancer risk.… Read more

Is It Possible the World Really Will End on December 21? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 17

Today is December 1. Just 20 days from now, on December 21, we and our world will be destroyed. Or so the doomsayers, including Hollywood, say.

As “coincidence” would have it, December 21 is also the beginning of winter in the northern hemisphere—the darkest day of the year.

There are folks who believe the end is at hand because they believe the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world on December 21, 2012.

Even if that was to happen, it would not necessarily happen to everyone on the planet.… Read more

Ever since I was a teenager I wanted to be a writer. But I didn’t think I had the talent. When I was in college Rod, an older cousin of mine who happened to be a senior editor at Newsweek Magazine, read an article I’d written for one of my classes.

He said it was very good, and I was a talented writer. I wondered if he was just saying that because we were close family. So I let it all go.… Read more

What Is God? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Articles, Blog, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, law of attraction, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, self-help, spirituality | 18

Have you ever asked yourself that question? I have, many times.

I grew up in the Roman Catholic tradition. We were taught God was a loving father, and also a harsh judge. We had this confusing notion of a divine being whose love or wrath would engulf us, depending on whether we did his “will” or not.

Heaven was our reward and hell our punishment—not a pleasant way to live your life, never knowing where you were ultimately going to end up for all eternity.… Read more

Can You Accept Your Life Exactly As It Is Right Now? by John Cali

by John Cali | posted in: Blog, channeling, healing, health and well-being, inspiration, John Cali, life and death, life purpose, manifesting, mind body soul, positive thinking, relationships, self-help, spirituality | 14

Many years ago I had a dear friend who was about the unhappiest person I’ve ever known. Charlie (not his real name) was a successful businessman. But his personal and family relationships were rocky.

Charlie’s problem, simply stated, was people. He just could not accept most people as they were. He was an expert at finding something wrong with them. And, of course, he found little about himself to like, despite his worldly success.

His life was often a living hell.… Read more
